Steemit Advertising Campaign

Here's something you might not have thought about:

Yesterday, @decentralizd wrote a great post "Rebooting the Unofficial User Funded Steemit Billboard Campaigns: Starting in Washington, USA". Here's the link - https://steemit.com/steemit/@decentralizd/rebooting-the-unofficial-user-funded-steemit-billboard-campaigns-starting-in-washington-usa and I laud them for doing such an amazing thing.

But, quite a few questioned the effectiveness of their billboard campaign idea. It is a fact that billboards reach more people for a dollar than any other form of media like radio, television, magazines and newspapers. And I have no doubt that the right billboard can and will be a great way to help grow Steemit, but wouldn't it be a good idea to have multiple advertising campaigns on the go at once?

What about coffee cups?

Quick coffee cup facts:

  1. It takes someone about 20 minutes to finish a cup of coffee.
  2. The person will look at the cup at least 8 times times while enjoying the coffee.
  3. Furthermore, the coffee drinker would be a mobile billboard advertising Steem to at least six other individuals.

One could print their own cups and give them to mobile coffee stands in a major city for free, this would help the outlet save money and give Steemit an outlet.

It would be cool if some people submitted their own cup designs - then we could vote on the best one!

Here's my most basic mockup:

Cost & Reach

25,000 8oz cups would cost around $5000, and if each cup does make an impression on six other people, then we'd have exposed Steem to ~150,000 people.

A marketing campaign like this could end up producing a lot of Steem, and not just from the coffee cup.

Like @decentralizd said - "So what are you waiting for guys? Lets get busy! Steem is relying on us to get the user count even higher, and I for one accept that challenge."
