But the trending page is not the best way to deside strategies, because:
The trending page is full of posts with bought votes. It is that simple.
Just a little ammount of posts there are really because they wrote a good article or they got supported by many people because there steempower.
But: You are right about the aspect of SP and its effect on the users support by others.
With a higher SP you can give higher upvotes. This will lead to more followers because you a re higher in the "upvoted-by-list" of specific posts.
Also the reputation of your account is very important (where the bought votes come in plac. The reputation increase by every vote you get on content) to have a more important looking image.
In my opinion: It is never a bad idea to invest in SP. Especailly when the price is as this low as like now. But take care to just invest as much as you could loose. Do not spend all your money in a cryptocurrency ;)
Ya it's really important to put only that much that we afford to loose bcz cryptocurrency market is not for massive gains only and sometimes we might have to face huge losses also, but by trending page i mean the trending oage when i joined last year bcz that time there was no Bidbots available so most of the income was trye and community based only.
