First Impressions of Steemit After Week 1
Steemit is an incredible way to socially share our ideas and interests. Why would anyone give the reward for the efforts of their time to advertising companies such as FB. Concentrating on quality content is a thrill for me, I get way more satisfaction reading the replies from readers than even the amount of steem dollars or power I receive as a minnow. Cryptos are a fairly complicated concept for anyone who doesn't want to spend the time investigating the technology however it isn't important if you're getting a personal reward of replies from interested readers. And the Steemit system works for everyone regardless of their crypto knowledge.
I haven't made a decision on my impression of bots yet, It feels like automated bots are not the votes and replies i am aiming for but at the same time the benefit from a minnow's perspective are hard to deny. I will continue to investigate the bots further but for now I aim for human interaction.
When i create content i spend a lot of time thinking of how much value it gives to the community. It's hard to see my 3 hrs of effort only worth 25 cents but keeping a grounded view of the system, it's important to remember nobody starts at the top. Everyday is like a snowball rolling a little further down the hill picking up more speed and followers interested in the content we share. The timing of positng appears to be a big factor on if and how many readers will see your post. I am still experimenting with this and have read a few different articles on it but for now it appears a bit random.
Steem power appears to be the important way to steer the steemit boat when starting out. I have received my first payout recently and i decided to trade in my steem dollars to STEEM with the end purpose of putting it into steem power. Originally i did it as a transfer but later found that using the internal market is a much easier and more efficient method of converting instantly. more steem power equals higher steem rewards and becomes an endless loop of success assuming you continue to create quality content.
I hope to soon have built a following of people who appreciate my content and who's content i look to for new ideas and topics i appreciate.
But that's the mystery of the system, What do your readers want and will they find it. As this new crazy world develops we're all in the experiment together.
Steem On Friends.
Thanks for the article. I'm just getting started too. I also don't care for a bot upvoting me. I'd rather post stuff that I'm interested in, and not just try to only gain money.
