Who YOU looking at...
Having Italian heritage in a South African landscape of birth comes with a certain combination of Italian / South African perks like: you can eat spaghetti with a fork, without cutting it and without needing a spoon. You can say "ciao" with and where others say "mholweni", "goeie môre" or hello. You like antipasta as much as you like braai. Your one aunt writes on your Facebook in Italian, your other aunt in Afrikaans. And, most importantly, you can say "who you looking at" and make it feel just a little more threatening purely by remembering your granpa was Italian, even if just you know it...
