SteemTV #6 : Present 29th Matriculation Ceremony of the University of Uyo!

It's another week and today is Saturday...… Welcome to SteemTV Show....!

SteemTV is about to show you what took place yesterday in the City of Uyo, follow along as we hit this city....!

It was a beautiful Morning in the city of Uyo yesterday 17th February 2023 when the entire city was booming due to the increase in population as the University of Uyo observed its 29th Matriculation Ceremony for the newly admitted students of the University of Uyo A.k.a UNIUYO for the 2021/2022 academic session.

Just before we proceed, let's find out a little history of the University of Uyo ...

The University of Uyo was founded in 1991 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. At the time, there existed in Uyo the University of Cross River State which was established in 1981 by the then Cross River State Government. In 1987 Akwa Ibom State with headquarters at Uyo was created out of the Cross River State and from that time up to the time of Federal Government take-over in 1991, the University was jointly owned by Akwa Ibom and Cross River State Governments.-Source

Parents/guidance was already smiling and happy as they watched their Children welcomed into the University in a grand style.

Normally this used to be a very important occasion in Nigeria once someone enters the University. Most home/family that has any new intake use to cook a lot of food and Invite their friends/ Neighbors to join them in such a celebration and yesterday was not exceptional!

The occasion started with the arrival of invited guests, students, parents, and a few Journalists in the city including SteemTV.

---

A prayer was offered, the Nigerian National anthem was played and the Chairman go ahead to introduce the Invited guest, there was a procession by the matriculating students to their respective faculty after which the Vice Chancellor Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo gave a Key-note address and welcome all the Invited guests, he assured the students that they will have a smooth education for the next four(4) to Six(6) years to come.

After the speech by the Vice-chancellor, each dean of the faculty presented their matriculating students to the School and the Invited guest. The student took an oath to stay dedicated, and committed to their studies and to be of good behavior and character during their school years.

It was hard to Identify people due to the large population, according to the school security, they said that approximately five thousand eight hundred (5,800) people came into the school premises yesterday for this occasion and there was a need to control traffic in the city and the School environment.

However, in three hours’ time, the ceremony was already over but there were many other entertainments on the school premises.

Congratulations!!

It was interesting and coincident to see that one of our steemian friends @kay-owobia was also matriculating. She was officially pronounced as a medical student at the University of Uyo. I tried locating another steemian, unfortunately...I couldn't see any other steemian apart from her.
