Steemit Is Not A Tool To Get Rich Quick

Just like another steemian, I was brought to this platform with a doctrine how to get easy money. But as the time flies I realize its not just about money. I mean, I know I still hope to get a lot of upvote and get a lot of money, who doesn't.
But steemit really changes the way I think. Right now I always think about what to write and how to write a good article.

There are several things you need to do before you start to earn a lot of money. Even when I don't even make a lot of money yet but I start to think about how to make this community to last. If we only think about how to get money then I believe this community won't last longer, because to start something big we need to take a small step at a time.

Create A Good Article

I think the most reasonable thing to do first is to make a good article. Most newbie who just joined steemit have this problem. They always complain that they don't know how to write. I mean, basically steemit is a blogging platform, like it or not of course you have to write.
Even when this is a personal blog doesn't mean you can write anything without concerning about what another steemian think. To catch steemian attention you have to write something unique or useful or even crazy if i can say. But still, it has to be your own writing. Curators will only vote your article if they think it valuable, because basically that what they do.

Make Friends

Like another social media platform, in steemit you have to gain more follower so your article would be more visible. There are several ways how to make friends in steemit. You can just comment on someone article or join a group chat.

But there's some unspoken rules on how to comment on someone article. You can't just drop a comment like 'nice post' and such. Because it's definitely you didn't read the article. You should really read it and understand it so you could give a proper comment. When you seriously comment on someone article they would reply to your comment more seriously. That way you just make a connection to the author.

About joining a group chat, if the group have rules you should follow the rules. Read the rules before you start anything, you can't just join a group chat and post your link there. Unless it is a promotion link group, but it won't make you have any friends.
Join a group and have a conversation. If you don't know how to start just ask a question about anything you don't understand about steemit. There are more people who willing to answer your question.

Join A Community

This is the most easy way to make friends and to share knowledge about steemit. You could join a community close enough for you to drive and meet the real people to ask or just hangout with them.
If you can't find any community nearby you should consider to build one. Find some steemian who live nearby and build a community. By the time more steemian will join your community, or you could ask your friends and relatives to join steemit and join your community.

I believe if you really active in steemit you would gain more than you can imagine. And if you really serious you can go to steemfest this november in Portugal. Maybe you could meet some whales and get some advices from them, must be cool.
