The One About HF19 And The Slider (for all the Steemit newbies)
You probably know that upvoting is changing in HF19. Your upvotes will be worth more but you will only have 10 votes a day before your voting power starts decreasing
A lot of people are advising spreading your voting power around by adjusting the slider. For example if your upvote is worth 0,04 SBD, you can adjust your slider from 100 percent to 50 percent so that the worth of your upvote becomes 0.02 SBD.
Make sure to check the percentage of your voting power. You can check the percentage of your voting power here. Just search for your account and you will see your voting power in the top-right of the screen.
The percentage of your voting power also affects your upvote. So if your upvote is worth 0.04 SBD and your voting percentage is at 50 percent your upvotes will be worth 0.02 SBD. If you then adjust the slider to 50 percent, the worth of your upvote will decrease to 0.01 SBD.
So in short you will be able to upvote more before your voting power starts decreasing when you use the slider.
However if you are a newbie like me, you are probably wondering where you can find this slider?
After reading about the slider I searched high and low to find it. I went to settings, tried other browsers and eventually gave up. However, two days ago the thing just popped up!
After some research, I finally found out what the issue was:
**The slider will only become available when you have at least 1 million vests, which currently translates to 480 SP in your wallet.
You can check can check your vests here. Just search for your account and you will see the ammount of vests on the right.
I hope this helps all you new Steemians that are looking for that slider you keep reading about but can't find.

wow ,didn't know there's slider for adjusting power, unfortunately 480 sp is long way for me :(
I know. Funny thing is that it is often mentioned (especially know with the new hard fork) but nobody realizes that the new Steemians don't have it yet.
Voting power makes sense, but how do you know your voting dollar strength?
Make sure your voting power is at a 100%. upvote a post and you will see the increase in SBD. Try it on my post :)
I upvoted your main post and was surprised how much it went up! It seems to go up more when others have already voted though vs when there is only 1 vote.
I will do a search on that. I understood that with the new HF that the voting rewards were linear. Maybe try it out on an old post. But be careful with your voting. You only have about 10 votes a day before you start to lose voting power. I know that before the HF my voting power was about 0.02 SBD. I just watched the increase when I voted. Sometimes it jumped but mostly it just went up with 0.02 SBD.
