Why Do People Record Instead of Helping?steemCreated with Sketch.

What do you see in the above photo? What does this mean?

Recently in Florida a group of teens watched a man drown..... Taunting and laughing calling him names the man eventually drowns and the teens just laugh.... When watching the video I could really only hear one teen who voiced a minimal concern.....

Were they obligated to help the man NO.....But they could've called 911 instead of letting that be the last experience that man had before he left this earth.

The feeling has always been that this generation has no compassion for human life. While these teens are not a representation of this ENTIRE generation; they are however a good percentage of teens.....

Reportedly the man tried to commit suicide after an argument with his girlfriend... so he decided to walk into the lake/river whatever you wanna call it

The disregard for human life in this video is saddening it Confirms what many people already believed to be true.......

The mentality of "Not my issue... Not my problem" or "Turn a blind eye" is ludicrous especially in this scenario where they could've possibly saved this mans life simply by dialing 911.

BUT

that mentality in some cases is NECESSARY....

These were black teens in Florida. The fear of police is on the rise. Police brutality has gotten to the point ...no one even wants to even report a SUICIDE!

In fear of dying just for trying to save someone else's life.

I'm sure we all can agree these teens could've went about this situation another way..... and the way they went about it was pretty heartless.

While I am in no way trying to victimize the teens who taunted this man during his final moments. I will however mention that we don't know them or their situation. Nor do we know why they found a dying man funny.......

While there are no Florida laws that state you have to help someone in a life or death situation. State officials CANNOT put their moral obligations in the forefront and try to charge them with  "failure to report a death to a medical examiner"

Especially when if one of the teens wouldn't have posted the video online nobody would even know that they were there.

AND BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK TEENS ages 14 and 16!!!

the book is going to be thrown at them HARD smh and they don't even know it

THESE ARE KIDS ..... albeit no remorse ..... neither did Roof even after killing an upteen number of people in a SC Church

So the man tried to commit suicide then changed his mind.....

and the teens felt like it wasn't their problem.....

While this is a sad situation let's try not to generalize all Florida teens by the actions or lack thereof 5 teenagers. OR This generation for that matter...
