Abuse on SteemitsteemCreated with Sketch.

I will talk about three things that spoil Steemit.

Comments

I receive plenty of comments from bots. They actually violate Steemit FAQ that says abuse is:

Comments that are unrelated to the topic of discussion.

In this article I received five comments by bots, that were irrelevant to the content of the article.

Eventually I wrote:

I have a plea to ALL MY READERS. Stop posting your meaningless comments. You can take your crappy votes AWAY if you want in return some votes or delegation of my powers to you. If you want my votes, prove it to me that you write great articles. If you haven't even read the contents of the above article, GET THE FUCK OUT!

I do not mind automated content. I frequently watch the videos of @phoneinf who says that content should not only be curated, but also generated my robots. I don't really mind, if the content is good, of if the comments are. They just have to be relevant to my interest.

My last article has been voted for probably by another bot. I do not really mind, as this voter doesn't spam me. I've seen their profile. They have 30726 followers, even though they do not post content, they just resteem. I don't want to get involved. They will probably still vote for my articles, but when you vote for content, this content (+curation rewards that are embedded in Steem anyway) should be your only reward.

Gore

Plenty of people post pictures of dead animals. These probably do not qualify as NSFW, but I do not care. I don't want to be exposed to pictures of decomposing animal flesh. I understand freedom of speech and all, but freedom of speech shouldn't involve promoting violence.

At the moment of writing I will only have full voting power in 48 hours. I lost most of my voting power on downvoting posts promoting violence or irrelevant comments from bots.

Religion

Many posts of Steemit promote meaningless spiritual practices, like emptying your mind. I do not really mind. I ignore them. They do not annoy me. I used to try to interact with an author of one such post, but they didn't have anything interesting to say, so I disengaged.

What I am concerned about is people who hate all religions at all. Probably even the ones that haven't been invented yet.

They usually cannot even properly analyze even as few as three religions, and they hate them all!

In this article the author probably wants to suppress all religious people.

I do not really understand what they want. I asked them:

What exactly you want? Do you want religious people to be rounded up in concentration camps and killed? What are your postulates?

I somewhat analyzed their article in my other comment. Part of it says:

You say:

I am exceptionally knowledgeable on the topic of RELIGION!

Prove it! Name a few of deities worshipped in Wicca. Tell me which Sikh guru didn't have a wife.

People frequently speak against all religions, yet they only have a superficial understanding of Christianity and some, or even none, understanding of Islam.

If you speak against all religions, you should at least have a profound understanding of Wicca, Sikhism, Buddhism (some of the basic religions), understand how religions are formed, know the teachings of Alan Watts about living without mind, understand how people join cults, how to leave one, how to find information about available venues of worship in your city.

In this article I tried to invalidate the teachings of Jesus by showing correlations between Jesus' teachings and some of the other cult leaders', yet still giving Jesus some credit for trying to found any religion at all.

If you want to make a valid claim against religions, study them properly or get the fuck out.

Considering leaving Steemit

As I said in another article, I am considering leaving Steemit (now leaving blogging altogether).

I used to blog when I was doing quick internet research on stuff, now I am returning to reading books, where reading one book takes weeks to months.

I haven't found on Steemit people who are deeply interested in comparative religion. Mostly people who hate all religions without researching any of them or (on topic different from religion) post gruesome pictures of decomposing animals.

I may continue to post articles on comparative religion, but it is difficult to do, not being able to contact thru Steemit other researchers, or people who want to found a new nontrivial religion.

I shall see how my last article fares, and whether it only attracts attention of bots.

I also want to see how this bug resolves, because it prevents me from pasting YouTube videos scrolled to a particular position.
