The first week on the road / stepping into the footsteps of Marco Polo in Venice
On Saturday, April 28th @preinisch started the #blockchain pan eurasian #meetup tour in Vienna. From there he travelled to Graz and then through Slovenia to Italy.
The first problem he had to deal with was the luggage!
With 55 kilos it’s not easy to drive! So he needed a big case for the bike. But unfortunately there are no components on the market yet for the motorcycle, which is fresh from the Honda factory. So GIVI was open to sponsor a new case individually adapted to the motorbike as well as a new green helmet. Thank you for the equipment GIVI! Philipe will be a great GIVI explorer on the @silkroad40 to China.

Here are some pictures of Philipe’s stops on the way to Venice.
The bike was dropped by the heavy luggage, because he had no GIVI solution yet.

On the weekend Philipe finally arrived in Venice to follow into the footsteps of Marco Polo.
That's how Venice looks like in May.
This is the house of birth of Marco Polo. 700 hundred years after him he is exploring the route again equipped with the newest technology and with a remote team supporting him on the way.
Marco Polo "learned the mercantile trade from his father and his uncle, Niccolò and Maffeo, who travelled through Asia and met Kublai Khan. In 1269, they returned to Venice to meet Marco for the first time. The three of them embarked on an epic journey to Asia, returning after 24 years to find Venice at war with Genoa; Marco was imprisoned and dictated his stories to a cellmate. He was released in 1299, became a wealthy merchant, married, and had three children. He died in 1324 and was buried in the church of San Lorenzo in Venice." Marco Polo entry in Wikipedia
Let’s explore Eurasia together! Take part in the @silkroad40 #challenge and fill with us the empty spots of the @steemitworldmap (For example in all the "stan" countries like Kasachstan or Usbekistan). He will also meet a lot of experts from various fields to share experience and know-how. Maybe you can meet him, too! ;)
But for sure you can write about a destination on the route, travel tech or about things to take care of. There are a lot of options. Or you create a visual related to the issues around the project. Every kind of support is welcome!
With your support and participation we are co-creating the future of travel networks and its platform with @neomad, enabling digital nomads and bloggers to experience a new participatory travel & learning ecosystem.
If you want to follow the story you can find more information on the silkroad 4.0 website and the following social media channels: instagram, facebook or twitter.
Thank you for your attention and your support for @opt2o, the @globalschool and the @silkroad40 initiative!

Ich bin Vorstand von Option 2.0, verantwortlich für die Plattform PATRON4change und war mit meiner Frau einen Monat in Bali untergetaucht.
