Teaching children about animals and where they live can be a fun task when we use play and creativity.
As a basic part of their education, children must know their environment, and animals form a fundamental part of life on planet earth.
Animals according to their livelihood
On the planet animals are developed almost in any environment, some in more isolated areas than others, for example, there are animals that can develop in conditions of very cold climates such as penguins, and others in dry climates such as those in Africa such as lions and tigers,that would not support the same temperatures in which penguins develop.
According to the environment where the animals live, they are divided into three groups:
Terrestrial animals:
As the name says, they are animals that live on land, live in the rid or fertile land, get their food from the land, in it they marry and reproduce, this in turn harbors a number of animals that can be divided as savage and domestic.
Wild animals are those that can not be kept as pets, for example, a tiger or an elephant, must be free and need large tracts of land to be able to function freely.
Domestic animals are those that we have in the cities, that can live in our homes and we can take care of them as a member of the family, such as cats, dogs and some species of birds.
There are many species of terrestrial animals, although insects should also be considered, because insects are also part of the ecosystem and offer a balance in life on earth. In addition, they offer also play a role in the environment, so not only must be taken into account large animals.
Aquatic animals:
These animals have their home in the water, they populate the seas and oceans of the world, we can say that they are fish, however, there are species that can live in water and on land, an example of this is the of the penguin, it is a flightless bird, that can swim, can submerge in the water but necessarily needs the earth; fascinating is the case of the dolphin that although considered a fish, comes to the surface to breathe and consumes oxygen from the environment as humans do.
Aerial animals:
These are the ones we can find in the air, like birds, which can fly, but also need the earth, because they feed on it, but they are classified aerial because they have the ability to fly.
It is important that children know and differentiate the animals that occupy the land and that they recognize to which place each type of animal belongs.
Activities to reinforce the class.
- * A very entertaining activity to illustrate them in class is to organize them in groups and to present an exhibition about the animals that inhabit the land, a group can talk about the animals that are only in the land, another about those that are in the sea, and the one that remains will speak about the birds that cross the skies.
- * Another activity to differentiate one medium from another, is to teach them in the basic principle that fish are from the sea, birds of the sky, and large animals of the earth, for this you can make use of drawings, images, and stories. Where the elements of the earth such as air, water and, earth are present. This way you can differentiate one from the other.
- Make a mural in the classroom, with drawings of animals made by children and classify them according to their habitat.

Enseñar a los niños sobre animales y dónde viven puede ser una tarea divertida cuando usamos el juego y la creatividad.
Como parte básica de su educación, los niños deben conocer su entorno, y los animales forman una parte fundamental de la vida en el planeta tierra.
Animales según su sustento
En el planeta, los animales se desarrollan casi en cualquier ambiente, algunos en áreas más aisladas que otros, por ejemplo, hay animales que pueden desarrollarse en condiciones de climas muy fríos como pingüinos y otros en climas secos como los de África, como leones y tigres, que no soportarían las mismas temperaturas en que se desarrollan los pingüinos.
De acuerdo con el entorno donde viven los animales, se dividen en tres grupos:
Animales terrestres:
Como su nombre lo dice, son animales que viven en la tierra, viven en la tierra libre o fértil, obtienen su comida de la tierra, en ella se casan y se reproducen, esto a su vez alberga una cantidad de animales que se pueden dividir como salvajes y nacional. Los animales salvajes son aquellos que no pueden mantenerse como mascotas, por ejemplo, un tigre o un elefante, deben ser libres y necesitan grandes extensiones de tierra para poder funcionar libremente.
Los animales domésticos son aquellos que tenemos en las ciudades, que pueden vivir en nuestros hogares y podemos cuidarlos como miembros de la familia, como gatos, perros y algunas especies de aves.
Hay muchas especies de animales terrestres, aunque también se deben considerar los insectos, porque los insectos también son parte del ecosistema y ofrecen un equilibrio en la vida en la tierra. Además, ofrecen también juegan un papel en el medio ambiente, por lo que no solo deben tenerse en cuenta los animales grandes.
Animales acuáticos:
Estos animales tienen su hogar en el agua, pueblan los mares y océanos del mundo, podemos decir que son peces, sin embargo, hay especies que pueden vivir en el agua y en la tierra, un ejemplo de esto es el del pingüino , es un ave no voladora, que puede nadar, puede sumergirse en el agua pero necesariamente necesita la tierra; Es fascinante el caso del delfín que, aunque se considera un pez, sale a la superficie para respirar y consume oxígeno del ambiente, como lo hacen los humanos.
Animales aéreos:
Estos son los que podemos encontrar en el aire, como las aves, que pueden volar, pero también necesitan la tierra, porque se alimentan de ella, pero se clasifican como aéreas porque tienen la capacidad de volar.
***Es importante que los niños conozcan y diferencien a los animales que ocupan la tierra y que reconozcan a qué lugar pertenece cada tipo de animal.
Actividades para reforzar la clase.
- * Una actividad muy entretenida para ilustrarlos en clase es organizarlos en grupos y presentar una exposición sobre los animales que habitan la tierra, un grupo puede hablar sobre los animales que están en la tierra, y sobre los que están en el mar. y el que queda hablará de las aves que cruzan los cielos.
- * Otra actividad para diferenciar un medio de otro, es enseñarles el principio básico de que los peces son del mar, las aves del cielo y los grandes animales de la tierra, para esto puedes hacer uso de dibujos, imágenes e historias. Donde los elementos de la tierra como el aire, el agua y la tierra están presentes. De esta manera puedes diferenciar uno de otro.
- Haga un mural en el aula, con dibujos de animales hechos por niños y clasifíquelos según su hábitat.
