Cultivating our children's emotional intelligence

Emotional intelligence should start at an early age

In the family the emotions of a baby are initiated, this imitates everything that its members do, for that reason it is necessary, that we be cautious with our actions. The cordiality, respect, trust, sincerity and love, contribute to the maturity of the child needs.

Discipline facilitates healthy coexistence in the family (picking up toys, arranging the bed, brushing teeth), this must be efficient and constant, it seems a simple task, perhaps unimportant, but it is essential in its first stage of life.

Children before the age of one and a half need affection and care, at this stage they begin to have their first tantrums, it is good to give them positive messages to channel their emotions. When they reach the age of two, they will have more interaction with adults and children, it is our mission to help them have healthy relationships with others.

We have to let our children know that they are heard.

We need to talk to our children about their emotions and teach them to express them, encourage them to say what bothers them, ask them how they feel and help them reason. The best way to stimulate them is to show them drawings, photographs, play games of joy, fear, sadness and anger, so that they learn to identify their emotions and those of others.

Cultivating emotional intelligence at an early age allows our children to have a healthy self-esteem, recognize their emotions, be tolerant of frustration and solve problems. Becoming happy adults.

Love your post, it is so sad that many do not take the time to communicate with their children. Starting this from infancy makes a huge difference.

It is essential for their emotional development, we must give our children tools to make them better people. regards

Good stuff. My 3rd year old years a lot and I am not sure where she picked that up. My wife and I don't really yell. I keep trying to get here to tell me what she wants and not just yell but maybe I will try asking her why she is yelling or something. Good to think about.

It is not advisable to shout at our children, because they become deaf to our words and get used to not listening and it is perjucicial. regards

I agree. In this day and age, especially with young boys, children are often punished or berated for showing certain emotions and this is not healthY!

Although being children are very intelligent, the first 7 years are essential, you have to help them. regards

YES! I absolutely love this!!! It is so important to teach such things at an early age. Their little brains soak up to much and they learn by seeing. I always encourage my children to speak up and voice their opinions and feelings instead of holding them in. Great post!

Thank you! We must help our children a lot, those tools will be useful when they are adults. regards

E I is just as important as LOVE

Love can do everything, love moves mountains, our children are special and we must help them grow emotionally healthy. regards
