Adieu Mrs Ogunsanya Temitayo - Another Victim Of Marital Abuse.

in #steemitnigeria3 months ago

Whenever I read stories online of marital abuse, I begin to wonder and think about how it came to be. Sometimes I see it as a social media fluke to badmouth marriage and encourage divorce among families, thereby destroying the fabric of families on earth. I do think that most of that marital abuse story is fake, most don't add up most times too. Until what happened to me today.

I got to work today and was told we lost a female colleague. On inquiry, no one was ready to talk more about it, but I just let it be in order not to open an emotional wound among her close friends. Someone opened up to me and said that it was her husband who beat her, but she has been hiding it for a long time. She is a mother of two, a boy and a girl; the boy is 10 years old, as I got to know. So what happened? I inquired deeper.

On Wednesday, she didn't resume work, and the HM took it upon herself to ask after her, to which they said she was sick and would need to stay at home. The HM, who is the head of our organization, got to the hospital on Friday and saw the woman in bad shape, and something was fishy too; there was sand in her mouth and some sand at the back of her head, which shows one thing: fights and marital abuse. Despite the HM asking her what could have happened and the possibility that the husband abused her physically, she denied them all in front of the HM, and there were also bruises on her hand. But since she didn't succumb to telling the truth, everyone's hands are tied. Only for us to hear that she died the next day because she was unconscious already and there is a possibility that something is already wrong with her head because the husband hit her head on the wall. and possibly that blood has entered or sipped into the brain. But she was declared dead before she could get to the Federal Medical Center.

The HM went further and asked on the street where they lived if anyone had seen them together. Those living on the street confided in the abuse story that the husband was the one who used to beat her often; they even told the HM that this was the major reason they left their former abode.

It's terrifying to see a human die because another human is not treating him or her well. Also, no matter what, we all have the choice to leave an abusive marriage. The death of this colleague has shown me a lot and opened my eyes to the evil of marital abuse. This one came close.

I am still shocked that I won't see you again, Mrs Ogunsanya Adeola Temitayo. ADIEU

I am very sorry! My condolences to the poor children and you colleagues - these are terrible conditions. Hopefully there will at least be justice...

Thanks bro.
It's surely a year now

Hopefully the kids are well accommodated and lovingly cared for... I assume that the social problem has not changed in the meantime and the pain remains.
