STEEMIT SANDWICH CONTEST #37 @Jaybird: FOOD WASTAGE WARRIOR SANDWICH

Since I absolutly HATE wasting food, i'm going to share a steamed buns recipe, that is super easy to do and the buns can be stuffed with a million different leftovers hanging around in the fridge (fish, meat, veggies, prawns, ragout, cheese bits,...)! A true food wastage warriors !!!

I did a recipe two days ago and had leftover wild salmon, sour cream and horse radish to use up, so I decided to make small chives steamed buns and fill them with a spin on a salmon paté .

STEAMED BUNS: 

- 500 g of flour

- 0,4 L of milk

- 2 teaspoons of baking powder

- salt

- chopped herbs (optional)

Just wizz everything together in a food processor, make small balls (around 16), fill them with a teaspoon of your filling of choice and steam them for 15 min ( I don't have a bamboo steamer, so I use muffin cases and a collinder)!

Salmon paté:

- mix roasted salmon fillet, sour cream, horse radish, seasoning &  lemon juice. 

Since I didn't stuff my buns, I sliced them into halves and filled them with salmon and lettuce. Delicious!!!
