A new logo for a new account

in #steemleo5 years ago

So I've been using two accounts with exactly the same logo. I get kind of confused between the two of them when voting and posting. I decided it might be easier for both my readers and myself to have different slightly different logos between the accounts.

Creating a new logo

Task one this morning was finding the old logo. Where the heck was it? I figured that I probably rendered it in Softimage so I looked all over my old XP box but it wasn't there. I looked all through the backups... all over my laptop in the Windows XP emulator, Linux, my main workstation,... Lost forever?

I thought maybe I should think about spending some cash to get somebody on the internet to recreate the logo or try to get a copy back off Steemit.

But then I thought, "Blender, maybe I rendered it in Blender." Sure enough there it was on my main workstation hidden in the "Blender" folder.

After locating it I did a few color changes in Photoshop. I wanted to give it a more creative look so I added a few more colors to the mix. It really looks about the same but it can be seen as a unique logo.

Why a new account?

Having everything under one account is actually more convenient and less confusing. Having two accounts doesn't add any more to the amounts that can be earned from the staked tokens so I'm not gaining anything that way, so why do it?

I mostly post a daily Actifit post with some creative non-fiction writing and added photography. Occasionally I like to write other things but the daily post has been a good way to keep me consistent.

Some of the scot tribes have decided that Actifit posts don't usually fit the criteria of what they want to have displayed on their communities. The #creativecoin tag does not even show up or pay anything on an Actifit post from what I can see. Fair enough, many readers are probably not that interested in my activity for the day. (That's one reason I like to include a bunch of other stuff in my daily posts.)

Qurator only votes for one post per day to keep things fair for everyone. Fair enough, but what if I want to write other things besides a daily actifit post?

The solution hit me as being this new account which I will primarily be using to post materials that could fit the requirements of the scot tribes.

The Advantages

Since I know I'm just targeting the scot tribes that interest me the materials posted on this second account might appeal to a different audience. The readers won't have to sort through a bunch of Actifit posts which might not be as interesting to them.

I can just concentrate this account with tokens and a vote from it will just give out these tokens and not as much Steem.

I'm thinking this will be helpful to drive up the price of Steem but please do let me know what you think.

My reasoning is that the scot tribes have a lot of people who are really into what is going on in around here and tend to hold onto a lot of the tokens. Every token that is held, is backed by Steem and thus acts as a sink to dry up the Steem supply. (Both by pulling the Steem out of the market and by not having it be used as Steem Power for voting.) This should help the price out I hope. By limiting the rewards paid out in Steem the system could become more of a long term safe bet.

As always, this is not financial advice and since you can see how well vested I am in Steem and the various tokens you need to take anything I say with the realization of my self interest and do your own research.

Thanks for reading! I always value your comments and support.

It all helps but is like trying to dip the ocean dry as long is Steem Inc is doing their massive sells. Maybe one day they can operate off of the ad revenue and stop killing the steem price.

Steem Inc aka Stinc may have some reasons to keep the price lower at this point. It is possible that things were heating up too fast and the system was getting poor performance on the Steemit UI because of the amount of traffic, or they needed the funding. (Conjecture on my part.) The low price lets the tokens disperse over more hands which should eventually be what we want. I hope that one day they may start buying back steem. It would be nice to see some kind of financial statement on Steem Inc since we are all kind of investing in their 'stock' in a way, (but I'm not really sure what to call steem.)
