As far as I know, one needs to at least purchase the starter pack first in order to 'participate in ranked matches' and thus will be able to claim rewards from daily quests and season rewards.
So one really has no choice but to buy first the starter pack. :)
Any advice to build my first deck? I have no money to spend on the starter pack D=
