IF I WERE THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA

There is no doubt that the problems facing Nigeria presently are enormous. We can also say that we are currently suffering from a significant economic downtrend caused by various past leaders. There is no doubt that Nigeria as a country has suffered colossal waste in terms of natural and human resources in the pasts years. There is no doubt that poverty is increasingly ravaging our people at an unprecedented and alarming rate in the past thirty decades. You will also agree that every sector of our country is plagued by the dreaded epidemic called CORRUPTION. However, despite all the problems mentioned above, I firmly believe that we can surmount our issues without any iota of doubt. I solidly accept this nation can ascend to a more prominent stature among the developed countries globally, that’s if I were the president.
Lack of quality leadership has been one major issue that has contributed to the problems mentioned above. And we all know that no country on earth can rise above the quality of the individuals that leads it. Therefore, a critical area that I would work on as of paramount importance is competent people in a strategic post that would cut across every sector of our economy. Such appointments would be on merit, devoid of nepotism and prejudice.
Regardless of apparent appealing temptation or pressure from any individual or caucus, people whose loyalty cannot be compromised would have a chance to showcase their potentials by my administration. In other words, effective and efficient teamwork would be highly recognized and propagated.
Furthermore, I firmly believe that you would agree that even competent and effective leadership cannot work effectively in an unfriendly environment. Hence, adequate security, which is the primary responsibility of any responsible government, would be of significant concern by our administration. The administration will ensure that all our security agencies funded adequately. Their personnel are well trained and have updated information to meet the current international standard in crime combating, control, and prevention.
I can’t stress that by having a good, quality and responsible leader in critical areas of the economy. The following listed below will be adequately taken care of.
- Power
- Education
- Health
- Security
And the average living of the country will increase significantly.
