Here's a sneak peak at our benches and planters being fabricated. All of this has been entirely funded through your upvotes and Steem donations! STEEM Park is UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

STEEM Park Opens July 16th!

“STEEM Park” is an interactive community garden in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. Located within the historic Herbert von King Park: STEEM Park is a pop-up installation that will be used to host Steemit meetups, local community events, workshops and dozens of activities throughout the year.

Good For Community, Good for Steemit

This new neighborhood hotspot in the heart of Brooklyn will act as a colorful and dynamic billboard for the Steemit community. We @hitheryon believe that this physical design project is an important and exciting proof of concept for STEEM and Steemit. We want to build something physical, lasting and impactful with cryptocurrency. Tens of thousands of people will visit Steemit Park this summer. Our team @hitheryon will host Steemit workshops and events for the purpose of onboarding community members and activists to the Steemit platform (this includes park visitors, park representatives, volunteers, local residents and more!)

Upvotes and donations will translate directly to funding for furniture, events, park maintenance, beautification and restoration for a neighborhood in need. This project is about discovering new ways of using STEEM and Steemit for social good!

Want to Support STEEM Park?

Throw us a SBD or STEEM donation! 100% of your upvotes and donations will go towards further development of the construction, opening ceremony, multiple public workshops, maintenance and support for both the Steemit and local Brooklyn community.

It really is a great idea to have a park dedicated to steemit. I mean we could gather our fellow steemian just to hangout or sharing information in the park. Must be great.

I think more steemian in the world would think about making things to dedicated to steemit in the future. Since steemit.inc is generous enough to help your project.

In the next 20 years i believe you could see the word STEEMIT all over the world.

Not Just the WORD, but many other STEEMIT places just like this! But it could go even further! Imagine if this community just absorbed all the good aspects of the sharing economy? I'm only just starting to understand this system and where these technologies are going, but I found this talk and really helped blow my hair back! https://www.ted.com/talks/don_tapscott_how_the_blockchain_is_changing_money_and_business#t-1117716 Cheers @ecoknowme

and maybe more like 1.5 to 2 years instead of 20. Technologies like this tend to get adopted by masses even faster than the last thing. Think Google, Ebay, Amazon, Paypal, FB, Cellphones, Smartphones, YouTube, Instagram, Wikipedia etc... each one became pretty common, pretty fast.

Steem seems to have so many great ideas and people in the community promoting it - I'm sure it is going to be a big success story.

how did funds get raised for this project?

This is a huge deal and I'm proud to support it 100%.

Great project. Why don't you use SteemGigs as well? That would give you better reach for crowdfunding.

..cool project..follow you and the idea..

Cool! good news! I am very happy about these events. Keep us informed of what is happening. It will be interesting to see how there will be an opening.

We definitely will!

Wow. I would like to see this in my city but I live in third world country :(

I don't think that should stop you from pursuing a project in your neighborhood, in fact I think the value of STEEM raised on this platform has even more impact in places that don't have as much robust infrastructure and cultural programming.

Exactly right it becomes easier when we share what we have knowing its going to keep yielding results of increase.

he want's that someone make this. OK. Also I think he is not in so rough third world country, what we may think - he has internet and can exsprees yourself in English .
