Roland SPD-S: New toy for my instrument collection

in #steempress6 years ago (edited)

HI guys, today I come to talk about a new instrument that I bought, one that I had a lot of time pursuing and finally I could get it, it's a Roland SPD-S, a samplers system for drumkits and percussion, or at least that's what people see, I see much more than that.

The roland SPD-S has 9 pads to shoot previously loaded samplers, in addition to 2 triggers entries to complete a total of 11 pads, at present it is really used by musicians of all kinds, mostly by drummers of pop bands, and electronic music, this for its versatility in performance.

Currently the most modern model is the Roland SPD-SX, I got the last model, despite its great differences in design and functionality, still doing what I'm interested in doing, shooting samplers, the fun of this, is that a Sampler can be any sound, percussion or not.

Here is a small sample of how these devices can be used

I place a roland SPD-SX because the videos of roland SPD-S are few

For me it has an incredible use, since as some know, I play in an electronic music band, and shooting samplers until now has been complicated, since it requires more equipment than what I could need having the roland SPD, goodbye to my laptop, interface and many connections, we connect the Roland and ready.

In addition to that, buy for comfort when composing a very common component called Roland KD-8, which is nothing more than a kick drum trigger designed to withstand the impact of the deck and send it as a signal that triggers a sampler on the roland SPD.

Also take advantage of buying this pair of Roland components, something a bit more for live performance, a pair of triggers for physical drumkit, The roland RT-10S and RT-10K, to be more specific, allow you to shoot samplers every time you hits the kick drum and the snare drum.

Well guys, that's all I wanted to share for now, I hope this information is useful for you if you are musicians and plan to use samplers, or if you are interested in the world of music, get new knowledge about it and about the things that currently they are used to make it.
