Klong Lat Mayom: Guaranteed great time for a day trip in Bangkok
Do you love good food? Do you love gardens? Do you love exploring temples and unique waterways? Klong Lat Mayom is a great place to experience all of these things in a short day trip out in Bangkok. This day trip is a great way to relax, eat good food, enjoy new sites, smell new smells and see new smiling faces.

You can reach Klong Lat Mayom by Taxi. If you do not have your own car I recommend taking the BTS to Bang Wa then grab a yellow and green taxi (my favorite taxis) to Klong Lat Mayom. When you reach the market you will first be overwhelming selection of delicious foods and may be a bit amiss of the Klong itself. Don't worry hidden gems await.
When you first arrive, I suggest taking a good look around to see all the great food options available. There is an abundance of seafood, famous grilled chicken, amazing assortment of deserts and the list goes on. I recommend taking a good half hour to walk around and check out all the good food before you make your decision. You will not be disappointed.
After getting a bite to eat, I went for a boat tour ride. Last time I went it was around 150 - 200 baht for the Canal tour which includes the Orchid Garden stop, and a temple stop that has a few vendors outside with some tasty treats. There are a number interesting sites to see along the way including local homes, canal features and a number of temples.
I am a garden lover at heart. The orchid garden found via Klong Lat Mayom is a gem all in itself. There are a great assortment of orchids arranged along rows of walking pathways . While the orchids are the main feature of the garden, there are also a number of other plants native to the region that are blended in together at the entrance of the garden. Take your time walking around and take in the sites and smells.
