SteemProjects.com - A Project We Should All Care About + Suggestions
So many things are going on with the Steem Blockchain that is hard to keep up with everything. One project, above all others, is tackling this issue right now and that's SteemProjects.com by @noisy and his team.
I'm writing this for two main reason:
- I want to encourage everybody to bookmark and visit this website often
- I want to stimulate conversation about certain features that would make the website more interesting.
Why SteemProjects Matter & Why We Should Care
Like I said above, too much is happening and the only place that is capable of updating itself by the community is steemprojects. Other websites have attempted to compile the apps on the steem blockchain but because this type of task requires a lot of updates, none were capable of keeping a somewhat comprehensive list of working apps.
With SteemProjects, we have the framework to build something that keep itself updated through community input.
Another reason to care about this project is because it is the best marketing tool one can hope to showcase this blockchain.
My Suggestion
Most people who use a website, won't use github to give feedback and updates. There are many apps on the website that are no longer working and the team can't be the one to do all the heavy lifting of checking every single apps in the directory...or expect people to go to steemprojects.com github.
Please allow the community to give feedback on the status of a project.
Example:
- Is this app currently working?
- Is this website trusted?
- Does this website implement SteemConnect?
Basically...Turn It Into a Review Website
For developers and users sake, please implement a review system. There would be tremendous good that could come out of it. Not only will you get the devs to care more about their steemprojects page but you will also allow for users to find the best apps ranked by how much users enjoy using it.
Those reviews could be written directly via your website and then put on the steem blockchain...from there, people could be rewarded for providing feedback and reviews on all those projects.
Conclusion
If you have any other suggestions for steemprojects.com by @noisy, I'm do my best the upvote the best in the comment section.
Cool project but what i see SEO and SEM is not the strongest part :/ I think we should help to advertise this project - its worth it!
SEO/SEM, good suggestion for sure.
I wrote about that a bit ago; SteemIt links have POWER built in. The posts do as well.
Cheers and Good post. Upvoted+resteemed.
One way to help boost SEO/SEM would be a Reddit campaign to create linkbacks from comments in niche subreddits to specific posts on Steemit. Google may have made tons of changes to their algos, but nothing beats good ol fashioned quality linkback growth from high ranking sites.
Re: reviews, we could try to organically get the ball rolling with an agreed upon tag. #steemprojects seems like the most obvious one to stick to, but what it really needs is a plan of attack for filling it with reviews of each project. The backlog of reviews to write would be no small task, but once its caught up it should be maintainable as an established community norm for steem projects.
Great suggestion for sure! Its overwhelming keeping up with all the projects aiming to build onto Steemit's foundation.
Well if the site is going to add review, then it should also have a ranking list with the best projects according to the reviews received.
PS: have you check solicitingpower.com from @roelandp
Yeah I agree, ranking list would be really helpful to choose the best project from all of them
I believe that Steem has enough developers to pull the trigger and bring the hidden mind of each projects. I should check this website and make suggestion/value to it. Great bringing awareness @cryptoctopus
I agree with your opinion @hiroyamagishi!!!
Nice work !
Could someone with power please downvote this?
@cryptoctopus @noisy
the innovation of @noisy and the others, with the development of this great tool is admirable, not only me. all users use it, daily. These projects will be part of the cryptocurrency revolution of the 21st century. Thank you all, they are examples to follow. I hope you continue helping, in the improvements of this platform. , thanks for sharing, I follow you, and support every day.
Woow!!!!! I have been with Steemit for ten months now and had no knowledge of the steemproyects.com platform. But, I think the concept is great, because it brings together many more digital platforms and thus facilitates the search and use of these.
It would also be good to have a digital platform that allows you to find all the posts that you have made and are on your personal blog on this social network. But, if it exists, it would be nice if you would let me know. Congratulations on the post, I agree with what you're saying. Greetings.
You have totally right, I am on steemit almost two months and from the little knowledge I have I have the same opinion with you. Greetings.
Hello! Thank you for commenting. Certainly, Steemit is like a university of knowledge and in a short time, it is very difficult to know and know everything that is necessary within this social network, but in time, we will learn everything that is necessary. Constancy and perseverance, to go far and succeed.
Gosh it's complicated isn't it ! I've been on Steemit a bit longer than you, since January 2017, but am still very naive on many aspects, particularly voting and commenting. I've been toddling along, happy in my ignorance.Brought up to think a vote was a tick, cross,or yes,no.Simples !
But no,there are so many voting strategies, that can affect how well your posts are received and rewarded. Belatedly I'm learning.
I do like Steemit and what it stands for.I don't understand what you mean about 'finding all your posts'.I searched for an old one of mine on my blog @ijavee by typing in it's title and up it came.
Obviously I'm missing something somewhere in the question you raise. But I have a good excuse - Anno Domini !
Hello! I agree with your approach. I think it's a lot of information in such a short time; but the idea is to go ahead, move forward and learn until you acquire the knowledge you need to be a good steemian, although there will always be limitations and obstacles to break down.
When I mean having a list of my posts available, it's something like Blogger, where you get classified by years and months, each post you've made. Thus, they can be easily found if you want to read them again or use information from them. Do you understand me now?
Thank you for commenting, I appreciate your point of view on the subject. Greetings....
Well, make it work on the Steem Blockchain. Each project could be a post, and the reviews could be comments.
good suggestion.
Actually, i started to do some reviews myself today. The steem projects is a really good tool, and definetly more people show know about it.
If the developers decide to add a way to review the projects on the site, i would transfer these reviews i will write there.
But maybe they could suggest a specific tag and a filter on the site?
please sir see my introducing post.
Very interesting thought!!!
I think @noisy did an excellent job on creating steemprojects. I use it almost everyday.
Just yesterday I added our new project SteemTipper to Steemprojects, and it is awaiting approval.
I like the idea of a review system. I think that would help users define what projects are still active and which are dormant
Having our own project is better than depending on others. Having the feedback from the users, will give people more interest and beleive on the network. You people can also add some rating method. Every category question will have some rating point.
