House-building (part 3) in Steempunknet

in #steempunknet6 years ago

I'd like to share my house-building experience in Steempunknet with my readers and offer some suggestions for the game.

@khadafi and I experimented with delegations of materials. We found that delegated items are consumed FIRST.

profile.steempunk.net is painfully slow. 504 Gateway time-outs are common and every time I collect my first 5 treasure boxes, I need to do a "re-load frame". This technical issue needs to be fixed.

Once the game is out of beta, hopefully the material requirements for building will be lowered and all the treasure boxes that appear on the steempunknet page will be the same drop rate as any other page.

The idea of the game was to get people socializing, not sitting on a page all day waiting for materials to appear! I found this process totally annoying, especially since each time I clicked on a treasure chest, a message appeared at the bottom right of the screen, telling me what I got. After clicking 25 treasure chests, I now had to click 25 times on these notices in order to clear them! The clicking wouldn't be so bad if I could click as fast as I wanted. Unfortunately, one must wait a half second or more before clicking again, or the 2nd click doesn't do anything. I was wasting my time clicking rather than socializing.

If at all possible, I would suggest putting a "remove all" button on those notifications so that we have the option to close all or sit there and click them one by one to see what we got.

When the game is out of beta, I recommend the highest number of items required be reduced to no more than 150.

Also, there is no need to increase the building materials required for ADDING rooms... You are not RE-BUILDING the entire house each time, so why the escalating requirements? This makes absolutely no sense; it is not realistic and it takes away from the actual game play.

What is the purpose of the increasing wait times to have these rooms built? After 20 days of waiting, I can see LOTS of people totally forgetting to even come back to the game! This is a very bad feature for keeping players engaged and should be dropped or drastically reduce the wait times.

Hopefully the developers take these concerns seriously and make the game more fun and engaging.

Continue the building...

After maximizing my storage room, I confirmed that storage for weapons and armor capped out at 50 (although I am still able to accumulate more items for now).

I was told that if I built a 2nd storage room the stats stack and the fact that the storage room is still available for selection seems to confirm that.

Thanks for the post! Just started playing steempunk today, and this was very informative!

I'm so glad you found it useful. It is one of my missions in life to be helpful to others.

Thanks for the post. I'm going to check out the other ones you wrote too.

I have been saving to build my first house for almost a year now. Often I forgot to play because it logs itself out every few hours. I don't know what to do with any of the items I am collecting other than the wood and scrap metal I need to build a house.

I'm happy to know people are finding my posts useful. Whenever I struggle with understanding something, I like to share what I discovered so that others need not struggle like I did.

Most of the other materials seem kind of useless at this time. This is why I would like to see the developers take a second look at what materials drop and how many are actually required. If it wasn't for the extreme drop rate on their home page, it would take forever to collect the needed wood and metal just by using steem normally. Since the game was said to want to encourage the participation rate on steem, it needs to be tweeked because it is actually doing the opposite in some ways (at least for now while in Beta stage).

The connection failures are very damaging in my opinion and need to be a top priority. It seems to have become worse lately and I haven't logged back into the game for quite a while myself. I have a feeling the developers may not have control over that part since it is a steemconnect issue I think.
