Nothing good comes from being greedy with your upvotes. Even if your upvotes are only worth $0.01 or less. Steemit is a great Pay it Forward platform!

I am not sure that I follow.
Let me try though...
Since my upvote at 100% is more than 0.10, then if I want to help the Post get visibility... I upvote the Post. If your upvote is 0.01 or less you likely won't be driving the post into Trending. ;-P
If I want to make sure the person sees that I support them, then I try to upvote a comment and reply to their comment with an encouraging word or such.
