[On the Silverton, south of Socatra Island…]

The following morning was a sad one for the crew as they committed the body of Spinny to the sea with all honors available. The pipeman played and all the officers put one hand on the wrapped body and saluted with the other before shoving it off into the Arabian Sea.

Even the Captain was present, overseeing the burial from his stretcher…

“May Gawd rest his sool! He was a braw sailur an' a stoatin mukker tae us aw!" he said as he saluted.

The body quickly disappeared beneath the dark blue waves and more than one set of eyes were wet…

Seaman- Carpenter's Crew Ergino and Seamen- Able Seamen Teeming-hot, Ehey and Inoy stood at attention, holding the Captain's stretcher. Standing next to Officer- Ickied, Junior Petty Officer- Quartermaster's Mate Errislravenhill blew her nose on her kerchief…

“Wa?! Wa Spinny?! Daed man’s boots! Ahh dinnae wan yer job dis way! Spinny, och Spinny, ye taught me everthin’ Ahh knew. Treated me likes a lil brodder, in fact ye treated me as a brodder since he dinnae knows Ahh was a wimins aw dis time, e'en win we shared bunks t’ bide warm when we waur sailin’ near th’ cold waters ay’ north Englain an’ probably thoughts Ahh waz jist born a disfigure’d cheil… but Ahh dinnae mind, cause me faither wannaed a son radder 'en a daught’r! Kin ye sees wha’ Ahh really means?” She lamented.

“Thaur thaur Lassie, we aw accept th' dangers ay th' Royal Scottish Navy when we sign-on. He was a braw ship-mate an' we need ta’ min' th' guid times wi' heem!" Ickied consoled.
“Aye…but Ahh wannae prove ta mahself, ‘att ahh kin dae a braw job as a mucker likes me fadder. Ahh knows Spinny was raised at brine, an ne’er mit a wimins bafur. Noot th’ sharpest sword in th’ armory... but nae one knew til Ilipino point’d me oot. (sigh!) Ahh’m gonna miss ‘eem th’ puir bloke! (sob!) An’ Ahh’m gonna fin’ an’ rin thru th’ scurvy Jinn dug ‘att killed Spinny! Bilge rats, me eyeliner is a runnin...“

Suddenly the ceremony was cut short as the deep voice of Seaman- Able Seaman Tuna sounded from above…

“Yo! Fleit ta th’ north!”

“Wussatt?! A fleit?!” The Captain yelled up.
“Aye, Sairrr! It's oors! Admiral Stoic's Man-O-War, Commander Yoong's Jackdaw an' Ahh think…Ahh think Ahh see's Keptin Stubborn’s frigate aboot fower miles north ay them!"

“Hell's bells! Looks like the auld cheil is feelin' bad fur me - Haw! Haw! He's joinin' th' fight!" The Captain said with a grin.
“Thaur will be heel tae pay in Aden noo!" Galligan added as he gazed north.
“Aye thaur will!”

“Give me more sail! I want to make Desroches before nightfall! I’m not in the mood to spend another night at sea with three hundred sweaty sailors!” Arab skipper Husam yelled out with a smile as he scanned the eastern horizon with his scope.

His new first mate relayed the commands forward and then turned to Husam with a question…

“Sir, when we make Seychelles, suppose the King takes sides with Asif?” he said with no small amount of worry.
“Then…we shall kill the King as well!”
“But his palace guard? Will they not defend him?”
“Perhaps…but I have eight nine-pounders that can belch black smoke and fire! The King of Seychelles is a known liar and coward! Either way, victory will be ours!”
