Old silver coin photography...boner alert 🚨

in #steemsilvergold7 years ago (edited)

So I’ve been wanting to do this for some time and try out my photography skills and take nice photos of a few of my silver coins, so I took a few of them out of their casings and found some nice backgrounds for the coins.. my favourite is the Kennedy picture. To me the background compliments the image. I use my iPad Pro to take the pictures, than adjusted the lighting in an editor..

For the Indian rupee I had cleaned it up abit, I’ve been wanting to because it was just awfully toned and you couldn’t see the beautiful design on it.. so I went to my number one solution which I prefer using... tooth past and a soft glasses lenses cleaner..

But here are the images I hope you enjoy them.. and I hope they are good, and I really want to do more.. but not just with silver coins with my copper and nickel coins aswell

My friend, let me give you an advice: Never, never clean a coin. If it had a numismatic value, it is gone after the cleaning. Coins without numismatic value are free targets. Words of one that has been collecting coins for more than 40 years.

Hahaha Well it’s personal collection buddy, there is certain coins I got that I won’t clean...but the rupee I’ll never sell it I like it way to much hahaha ...but that true should never clean coins
