AUM - Silver Shield Eternal Wisdom Series - Rare Exclusive Micromintage - Only 525 Produced

Wrap your eyes around the second release in the Silver Shield Eternal Wisdom series. AUM.

2017 SSG Eternal Wisdom Series Exclusive PROOF Micromintage (525 made) - 2 - AUM

The second instalment in the Eternal Wisdom series is the AUM coin. Anybody that knows anything about Buddhism will recognise the AUM symbol and may recognise the Lotus Flower design behind it. This is by far the busiest design in the series but it is beautiful in its own right. The lines look great close up and the symbol is full of meaning.

Again this is representative of the Buddhist wisdom regarding states of consciousness. The AUM is used in meditation and it is believed the frequency created by the human voice uttering the chant AUUUMMM can have an influence on the physical plane.

The symbol itself represents the four stages of consciousness:

The waking state, which is the A in AUM. This is a symbol of our consciousness and the world in its entirety.

The Dream State, the U in AUM. This is symbolic of the subtle world, the active unconscious (subconscious).

The Deep State, the M in AUM. This deep state is our latent, untapped unconscious.

Finally the Samadhi, the silence after AUM. This is pure consciousness, This is where you are at peace and manage to quiet the constant internal monologue, to a state of just existing. A similar phrase I came across in Tai Chi is “To Quiet The Chattering Monkeys”.

The coin is a striking design, capturing the beauty of the Lotus flower and all the charm of the Buddhist decoration. I like the coin but it is not my favourite of the set. In fact I have prefers the simplicity of the other design slightly over this one. The last design I will share with you is probably the simplest design, but it is symbolic of a whole philosophy in itself. Stay tuned for the last in the series, my favourite, coming to you in my next post, so stay tuned!

Really nice coin!

Thanks. I like the look of it too. The next in the series is my favourite though.

It looks nice but I only buy Canadian Maple 1 oz silver coins.

That's cool bro, I have a stack of Maples too. it would make for a bit of a boring post showing a Canadian maple though, I am pretty sure most stackers have at least one of those in their private collection. Wait untill you see Chris's version of the Canadian maple - Royal Highness.

Stunning coin, stunning photo's. What a great description! Now I know what AUM means :) Incredible detail . Can't wait to see your favorite. This is a great series you are doing. From a fellow member of the #steemsilvergold community.

Thankyou for your support and I am glad you enjoyed the photo's.

That's some serious designing in that coin!

Yea that's for sure. I enjoyed photographing it!

I bought plenty of Chris Duane's Silver Rounds in the Past, but I slacked off... I suppose I missed out on a lot of his micro-mintages... I have so pretty good one at least... This is the first time I'm seeing the one you just posted...
@pocketechange

Haha, yup Chris has been pumping them out at about 2 proofs per week. The BU's are on offer direct from GSM's website and they are selling for only a few dollars over spot, with the option of copper. I have most of the releases from the past year or so, so if it has been about that long since you were stacking them, I will probably have quite a few you haven't seen so stay tuned for plenty more.

Thanks for letting me know... I'll be watching for your new posts...

really beautiful, might have to collect some....

Yea they are beautiful, although with only 525 made worldwide you had better get in quick to see if there are any on Ebay. I am not sure how many stayed in the US but i know a few went to england and a few made it here to NZ. Check out the rest of the coins in the series too, i have posted about them. The yin yangs my favourite.
