12 days of Christmas - Freedom girl!!
As the festive season draws near, there’s no better way to celebrate than with a bit of shiny inspiration! For the next 12 days, I’ll be sharing my very own 12 Days of Christmas Countdown, featuring the precious metals I’d love to find under the tree this year. This idea was first dreamt up by a long-time #silvergoldstackers community member and good friend, @silverd510, and it pairs beautifully with our annual #SecretSanta project, where members exchange silver and gold gifts anonymously. It’s a brilliant way to share your wish list and perhaps even give your mystery sender a nudge in the right direction. Day 9: The Silver Shield Freedom Girl – A Modern Icon of Beauty and Liberty
As we near the end of my 12 Days of Christmas wishlist, I’m hoping for a silver coin that has long eluded my collection: the 1 oz Silver Freedom Girl. This stunning piece has earned its place as one of the most popular designs in the Silver Shield series, capturing the essence of liberty, allure, and strength in a way that few coins ever have.
The Freedom Girl is a modern reimagining of the legendary Peace Dollar, a coin struck by the U.S. Mint after World War I to commemorate the “War to End All Wars.” The original Peace Dollar, designed by Anthony de Francisci and inspired by his wife Teresa, is celebrated as one of the most beautiful coins in U.S. history. The Freedom Girl builds on this legacy, offering a bold and contemporary interpretation of liberty and grace.
