The 2016-2017 NHL season is now underway with teams eagerly trying to gain a little breathing room in their division. Saturday night features a non-divisional matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New Jersey Devils. The Lightning and the Devils will face off 3 times this year, all within the first month this being their first game.

Tampa Bay Lightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been solid playoff contenders for quite a few years now with the likes of Stamkos leading the team. They have lost a couple of big name players in the last few years but remain a strong team with solid all-around scores for defense, goaltending, and offense.
Their 2015-2016 record was 46-31-5, with 97 points. They finished 2nd in the Atlantic Division.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been blessed with some truly amazingly high point getters. The top of their list being, S.Stamkos (with 64 points last year), N.Kucherov (with 66 points last year), and V.Hedman (with 47 points last year).
The Tampa Bay Lightning is a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa, Florida. Established in 1992, it is a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Tampa Bay has one Stanley Cup championship in their history, in 2003–04.[3] The team is often referred to as the Bolts, and the nickname is used on the current third jersey. The Lightning plays home games at the Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The last time the Tampa Bay Lightning made the playoffs was last year where they were eliminated in the semi-finals, and only by last years Stanley Cup champions the Pittsburgh Penguins.
New Jersey Devils
The New Jersey Devils have struggled since the loss of one of the best goalies of all time, Martin Brodeur. Since then they've had issues finishing in the top places to earn themselves a playoff position. Although they haven't changed a lot over the offseason, acquiring Taylor Hall could be just what they need to get that extra point per game and grab that playoff spot. They appear to be a team that may just be on the upswing.
Their 2015-2016 record was 38-36-8 with 84 points. They finished 7th in the Metropolitan Division.
The New Jersey Devils usually seem to play a score, get ahead, then play defense style of game, but with their latest forward acquired, that being T.Hall they might be set up to get a few more points this year than usual. Their leading point getters are, T.Hall (with 65 points last year), K.Palmieri (with 57 points last year), and A.Henrique (with 50 points last year).
The New Jersey Devils are a professional ice hockey team based in Newark, New Jersey, that competes in the National Hockey League (NHL). The team is a member of the league's Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. The club was founded as the Kansas City Scouts in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1974.

The last time the Devils made the playoffs was in the 2011-2012 season where they lost in the Finals to the LA Kings.

Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).
After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

It's been 3 days now since this game played...any word on when a payout will be forthcoming?
Hey there, we just paid out https://steemit.com/steemsports-nfl/@steemsports/steemsports-denver-broncos-san-diego-chargers-tnf-mass-sp-distribution-game , this one will be next, sorry we had issues with script timing out from connections to steem.ws, we did over 200 manual payments this week + memos , it seems stable now so by next week should be better.
That would be nice...I won this one too, and still haven't seen the payout filter through...good luck with getting this worked out, I enjoy the system and would hate to see this have a negative impact on the level of participation...Keep up the good work!
