L.A. Kings

The LA Kings have been cup contenders for quite a few years now. Even when they finish low in the top eight for the playoffs, they've shown they have what it takes to make it all the way. However, that being said, without a goalie it's really hard to be a contender as seen with Montreal's legendary drop from first last year when Carey Price was out for the majority of the season. They've lost three straight, and without Jonathon Quick in net, the L.A. Kings may have a hard time establishing themselves a playoff spot this year. It has been said Quick will be out for potentially 3 months, and maybe even longer.

Their 2015-2016 record was 48-28-6, with 102 points. They finished 2nd in the Pacific Division.
Their record this year is 0-3-0 coming in last in their Pacific Division at the moment.

The LA Kings come powering forward with A.Kopitar (with 74 points last year), J.Carter (with 62 points last year), and T.Toffoli (with 58 points last year)

The Los Angeles Kings are a professional ice hockey team based in Los Angeles. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team was founded on February 9, 1966, when Jack Kent Cooke was awarded an NHL expansion franchise for Los Angeles, becoming one of the six teams that began play as part of the 1967 NHL expansion. The Kings called The Forum in Inglewood, California (a suburb of Los Angeles), their home for thirty-two years until they moved to the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles to start the 1999–2000 season.
After the 1993 Finals, the Kings entered financial problems, with a bankruptcy in 1995 that was only solved after the franchise was acquired by Philip Anschutz (owner of Anschutz Entertainment Group, operators of Staples Center) and Edward P. Roski. A period of mediocrity ensued, with the Kings only resurging as they broke a six-year playoff drought in the 2009–10 season, with a team that included goaltender Jonathan Quick, defenseman Drew Doughty, and forwards Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar, and Justin Williams. Under coach Darryl Sutter, who was hired early in the 2011–12 season, the Kings have won two Stanley Cups in three years: 2012, over the New Jersey Devils, and 2014, against the New York Rangers. Quick and Williams respectively won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs.

Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks have had a few rocky years since they traded away Luongo. However, this year, they've really taken off flying starting off with 3 straight wins putting them in first in their division. They were able to squeak by St. Louis with a 2-1 victory while coming back from a 3 goal deficit against the Carolina Hurricanes to force an overtime and then take the win the game before. B.Horvat has already net himself 2 points this year as well as in typical Canuck fashion, so have each of the Sedin twins.

Their 2015-2016 record was 35-39-8 with 78 points. They finished 7th in the Central Division.
Their record for this 2016-2017 season so far is 3-0-0 with 6 points and first overall in their Pacific Division.

The Vancouver Canucks have shown that even while hitting some bumps in the road over the last few years, they still have the potential to make the playoffs and if they get hot, who knows. So far they have been doing absolutely awesome. Leading their team in points is the Sedin brothers as always, D.Sedin (with 61 points last year), H.Sedin (with 55 points last year), and B.Horvat (with 40 points last year).

The Vancouver Canucks are an ice hockey team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Canucks play their home games at Rogers Arena, formerly known as General Motors Place, which has an official capacity of 18,860. Henrik Sedin is currently the captain of the team, Willie Desjardins is the head coach, and Jim Benning is the general manager.
The Canucks joined the league in 1970 as an expansion team along with the Buffalo Sabres. In its NHL history, the team has advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals three times, losing to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011. They have won the Presidents' Trophy in back-to-back seasons as the team with the league's best regular season record in the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons. They won three division titles as a member of the Smythe Division from 1974 to 1993, and seven titles as a member of the Northwest Division from 1998 to 2013.

Support SteemSports Ultimate Vote Betting … together we all can win!

How to Play

  • Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

  • Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

  • After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

  • The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

  • 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

  • 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

  • Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

  • Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

  • Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

  • @steemsports in the unlikely event that when the Stake Pool is divided up between the winners and the nomenclature resolution goes below the third decimal place (example: 0.0001), then Steem decimal restrictions won’t allow a payout and the pool will carry over to the next game.

  • Please vote responsibly :).

I have to go with the kings on this one

Kings, the canadian hockey teams are just not too great right now. Sorry canada.

LA KINGS

I do enjoy the Canadian teams but have to go with the Kings here.

I'm fond of snow and ice sports but didn't grow up in the right place to be able to participate. Seeing you guys posting this stuff up, it's reminded me to check some matches out on youtube. Such a wicked sport. I'll go with the LA Kings :)

They've had a slow start, this season, but they're a come from behind team. Quick and Kopi are gonna take it against the Cans. GO KINGS!!

LA Kings for the lulz

LA KINGS!

I think Vancouver Canucks win.
Sedin brothers go-go!

CANUCKS all the way! I live in British Columbia, and in Vancouver for many years before moving! Went to alot of games! Their 4 and 0 right now! Go Canucks Go !

go canucks go.

Going with the Canucks for my Henrik Sedin & Loui Eriksson. #SFHL

I'll go with Canucks.

However my rep is too low to participate :-(

What outcome should I vote on?

I like this question and think that @steemsports should calculate the chance of each outcome, then listing that percentage next to the team we are voting for. Just food for thought on what I would consider a better user experience

I don't understand much of NHL, what is better to vote on?

canucks for sure

wow I cant believe how even this is. For being two teams at the opposite ends of their division this is insanely close with votes. Cool to see.
