Match Overview
New Zealand faced off against one of the favorite teams to win the Confederations Cup which is Portugal. This was the final match for Group A and Ronaldo's team needed to win by quite a few goals in order to secure their pass to the semifinals as the leaders of the Group, over the winner between Mexico and Russia.

Nueva Zelanda se enfrente a uno de los equipos favoritos para ganar la Copa Confederaciones 2017, Portugal. Este fue el encuentro final del Grupo A y el conjunto de Cristiano Ronaldo necesita lograr una victoria por muchos goles para asegurar su pase a las semifinales como líderes del grupo y de esta forma tener una llave más favorable contra el segundo del Grupo B.

First Half
At the beginning of the match, New Zealand tried to take Portugal's side by surprise, by performing a high pressing tactic in the first couple minutes of the game, in search for a goal that could get their opponents off balance, since, as we all know, Portugal was the favorite team to win this match.
New Zealand's high pressure almost paid off in the 6th minute as their star player, Wood, had a great chance by performing a strong shot that was stopped by Rui Patricio. In the following minutes, they continued attacking with more heart than technique, and because of that, they failed to translate this dominance of the ball into scoring a goal that could have changed the balance of the game, because Portugal wasn't expecting to have a hard team in this encounter. But all this changed suddenly starting in the 20th minute when Portugal managed to transfer their hierarchy to the pitch and began to dominate the match and their star, Cristiano Ronaldo, almost scored twice, both with a header in the 21st minute and 25th minute, respectively, it seemed imminent that Portugal would get ahead on the score at any time.
En el comienzo del partido el seleccionado de Nueva Zelanda busco de tomar por sorpresa a los lusos, presionando en los primeros minutos del encuentro en la búsqueda de un gol de camerino de pudiera sacar de balance a sus rivales, ya que como todos sabemos el equipo de Portugal era el favorito desde la previa del encuentro. La presión alta de Nueva Zelanda rindió sus frutos, en el minuto 6´ Wood realiza un fuerte remate el cual es detenido por Rui Patricio. En los minutos por seguir seguían atacando con mas corazón que técnica por lo cual no lograron anotar el gol mientras dominaron el encuentro. A partir del minuto 20 Portugal logro trasladar su jerarquía al campo de juego y comenzó a dominar más ampliamente el encuentro, su estrella Cristiano Ronaldo casi anota en dos ocasiones, ambas con un remate de cabeza en el minuto 21 y 25 respectivamente, parecía inminente que Portugal se pondría adelante en el marcador en cualquier momento.
Finally, in the 31st minute Portugal's incessant pressure to get the goal, paid off, they suffered a foul in the small area and were issued a penalty. Easy cake for Ronaldo, 0-1. But, Portugal knew they could win by a wide margin of goals in case of a tie in points with Mexico, so they continued pressing until finding the second goal.. and that goal came by, Bernardo Silva in minute 36.
Finally, the first half came to an end and we can say that New Zealand made a great effort during the first 20 minutes until Portugal finally imposed their hierarchy and took possession of the ball until the end of the first half.
Finalmente en el minuto 31 fruto de la incesante presión de Portugal por conseguir el gol sufre de una falta en el área chica y es dictado un penal a favor de ellos. Pastel comido para Ronaldo, 0-1. Pero Portugal sabia que debía de ganar por un margen amplio de goles en caso de empatar en puntos con el seleccionado d México, por lo que siguieron presionando hasta encontrar el segundo tanto a manos del jugador Bernardo Silva.
Al acabar el primer tiempo y podemos decir que Nueva Zelanda hizo un gran esfuerzo durante los primero 20 minutos hasta que finalmente Portugal impuso su jerarquía y se hizo con la posesión del balón hasta el final del primer tiempo.
Second Half
In the start of the second half, the New Zealand coach surely warned his players at half time to show the same intensity that they showed the first 20 minutes of the first half if they wanted to somehow find a way to win this game, but what was demonstrated on the pitch says something else, from the beginning, Portugal regained control of the match by putting in New Zealand's goal in danger with two great occasions, first, with a corner kick by Quaresma and it headed to the opposite arc by Moutinho and a later corner kick again, kicked by Quaresma, but, this time no one was able to direct it towards the opposite arc.
Comienzo del Segundo tiempo, seguramente el técnico de Nueva Zelanda alerto que deberían de mostrar la misma intensidad de los primeros 2 minutos del encuentro si deseaban de alguna forma entrar de nuevo en el partido, pero lo demostrado en cancha dice otra cosa, desde un inicio Portugal retomo el control del encuentro presentando peligro para el arco Neo Zelandes, con un corner pateado por Quaresma y dirigido al arco contrario por Moutinho y un corner posterior pateado nuevamente por Quaresma pero en esta ocasión nadie alcanza a dirigirla hacia el arco contrario.
Curiously, when approaching the minute 20 mark of the second half, New Zealand started to put a lot of heart on the field and endangered the arc of Lusos in the 58th minute, realizing that there could be a chance to win the game if they could score a goal and shorten the distance on the scoreboard, but Ronaldo's team remembered that they shouldn't lower their level of concentration just because they were winning by 2 goals, therefore they started to attack again strongly from the hand of Ronaldo, who was within millimeters of scoring with a header.
A couple of minutes later, the Portuguese striker Andre Silva failed to convert another strong shot into a goal. When seeing that the match dominated widely, Portugal's manager decided to bring his star of the field and replaced him with Nani, who perhaps, is not as potent and certain as Ronaldo, but he is very effective, which was demonstrated by the imbalance that he created on New Zealand's defense. Because of this, his compatriot Andre Silva managed to discount in the 80th and demonstrated his great quality for which he was signed by the A.C Milan.
New Zealand tried once again to put a goal on the scoreboard in the 88th minute, but this attempt was immediately overturned by Portugal's strong defense, and finally, the encounter was sentenced by a great goal from Nani, who strongly shot to nail the ball in the near the left post of their opponent's goal.
Finally the the time ran out, but we can say that New Zealand made a great effort in some stretches of the match, but as expected the match ended in the 93rd minute with an outstanding Portugal victory, by a score of 0-4.
Curiosamente al acercarnos al minuto 20 del encuentro Nueva Zelanda coloca de nuevo mucho corazón en el campo de juego y pone en peligro el arco de los lusos en el minuto 58. Al darse cuenta de que existe la posibilidad que les descuenten en el marcador si bajan su nivel de concentración, Portugal vuelve a atacar fuertemente de la mano de Ronaldo quien estuvo a milímetros de anotar con un remate de cabeza. Par de minutos después remata nuevamente al arco contrario el Portugues Andre Silva sin lograr convertir esta ocasión en gol. Al ver el encuentro dominado ampliamente, el técnico de Portugal decide retirar a su estrella del campo y reemplazarlo por Nani, quien quizás no es tan potente y certero como Ronaldo, pero si muy efectivo, lo cual es demostrado con lo desequilibrante que fue al entrar al campo de juego. Su compatriota Andre Silva logro descontar en el minuto 80 gracias al nuevo aire que tomo su equipo con este cambio y demostró su gran calidad por la cual fue fichado por el A.C Milan.
Nueva Zelanda trata nuevamente descontar en el marcador en el minuto 88 pero este intento fue inmediatamente anulado por la férrea defensa de Portugal, y finalmente el encuentro es sentenciado por un gran gol del recién ingresado Nani, quien remato violentamente para clavarla en el cerca del poste izquierdo de la portería rival.
Nueva Zelanda realizo un gran esfuerzo en algunos tramos del encuentro, pero como era de esperarse el encuentro finalizo a los 93 minutos con una contundente victoria de Portugal por un marcador de 0-4.

Go Portugal. What a team. That Ronaldo is some soccer player. No wonder everyone goes nuts about him. Portugal is still the team to beat for me. If you have Ronaldo on your team, you always have a good chance to win. He is such a competitor. He is Portugal's prife and joy. A true marketing blockbuster. His playing ability matched only by his good looks. What a combination. He must drive Portugal women insane while the husbands cheer him on. What a concept that is ? Go Portugal. I am portuguese with a deep knowledge of portuguese football. They said portugal got lucky in euro and they only win 2 games bla bla bla bla.. but did we lose???? And yes ronaldo is a great players but you need see the quality of all team. Nani, quaresma or pepe are great players. And we also got a golden generation with gelson martins, carvalho andre silva, bernado silva... the quality is there soo its wasn't just lucky😉
