Steemstem bot: Update

in #steemstem-bot7 years ago (edited)

We have upvoted 93 posts since I restarted the bot (at least at the time of the screenshot) which was almost 2 days ago. 93 posts in 47 hours brings an average to around 46 posts upvoted a day. Using the formula discussed in the post here means that we can raise our voting weight from 10.5% to 11% which will allow for a change in value of around 0.03 SBD to 0.04 SBD from all of the bots. I can actually increase to 11.3% but I do not want to drain the VP of the bot.

Why the formula for the bot caps at 90% VP being used if roughly 20% of your VP (11 Votes at 100%) is regenerated a day? The answer is simply to maximize the rewards as the value of a vote decreases as voting power decreases. For small votes, the difference between 100% and 90% can be that of <0.01 SBD (unnoticeable) but as VP decreases it may eventually become noticeable. Since this week is a testing week I will try changing the VW to that of an 80% formula for a couple of days to see outcome. In the end, something I have been thinking of, is changing it to an 85% method that way there the votes are increased but there is still some room so that the bot can regenerate back all of its voting power used up, even if there are a few extra votes above the expected. The bot has paid out a total of 0.216 SBD to bid bots as well which with a coming update to the software (version 0.16.07) will allow for it to cycle bidbots so that there will be less, to no, competition on posts within the same voting period actively maximizing the reward. Its either that or I will add in a rule such that only posts that meet certain criteria will get a bidbot vote. fr instance certain criteria might be making it so that in order to get a lifetime supply of bidbot votes you need to delegate 10 SP to the bot or something. It hasn't been decided and for the testing phase it is free for everyone.

If you have any questions than please message me directly on steemit chat (name is kryzsec) or on discord (opticcncfan) or just comment here. If you want to become an investor into this bot (dumb idea personally) than please contact me before doing anything. Do to the update taking place, I will be asleep until later today (13:00 MST at the earliest) and will not be making votes in that time.

Please note that if bidding for bidbots is to happen in the future than please realize that it wouldn't be required. There is no, and never will be, a fee to use the basic bot. I may however include, at some point, a monthly premium fee that will allow for increased voting weights on posts. This is something that has been of debate in my mind, not guranteed, and would still require nothing for the free upvote.
