How to carry out medical tests at home ~ PREGNANCY TEST
You don't necessarily need to visit a certified doctor or specialist before you confirm whether you are pregnant or not or carry out a pregnancy test.
All you have to do is get a pregnancy test kit and follow the instructions before usage.
Usually, you should only carry out a pregnancy test whenever you miss your period. Lol. Else, what's the use.
The pregnancy test kit usually contains a test strip or stick that detect the presence if HCG levels in the urine. It contains a test strip or stick that is impregnated with anti-HCG globulin which aids in the detection process.
HCG - Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a hormone that develops in a woman's body only after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. The implantation of the egg occurs around the sixth day after the sperm and egg have merged.
It is often advised to note the following:
- Check the manufacturing and expiring date of the test kit before buying or using to make sure it is still viable.
- Early morning urine should be used since the more is more concentrated and the HCG level is higher by then.
- One should wait for a day to a week before carryout the test to be sure of a missed period.
- The instruction manual in the kit should be read and followed obediently.
On getting the test kit, one may decide to use the stream or dip test.
The stream test involves allowing the flow of urine unto the recommended area for about 5 seconds while The dip test involves collecting the urine sample in a small plastic container, leaving the recommended area of the strip in the urine for 5 to 10 seconds. The test strip is then placed on a level surface for about 5 to 10 minutes.
On checking after 5 to 10 minutes, a line indicate that the patient is not pregnant while two lines indicate a positive result.
A visible light or thick band may appear. It's all same since the thickness of the colour depend on the HCG level.
The result is also same for the stick test. However, some stick test show the plus or minus sign indicating positive and negative respectively.

My wife had to make 3 tests before we were finaly sure that she was indeed pregnant.
We didn't know that the thickness of the line varied, and thought
"Haha. Such a thin line! That probably means she's not pregnant!"
That was silly! :D
Hahaha.
Congrats.
She's already in her 3rd month.
We still don't know the gender.
You are the person who used this content potentially. All the best
My wife used once and it says positive, I was so happy. We have an extra tester so we used it again and it says NEGATIVE!!! :o we're going to see the Doctor!
