What essentially LIGO is and what is the commitment of LIGO in the in deciding the gravitational wave? So immediately, how about we begin this intriguing dialog!

2017s Nobel Prize in Physics which was being awarded in Sweden has been dispersed among three researchers specifically Rainer Weiss, Barry C. Barish, and Kip S. Thorne. Each of the three of these researchers is from America. Now, what these researchers did? Now, how LIGO Observatory works? What if gravitational waves were electromagnetic in nature?

First of all, gravitational waves are not electromagnetic in nature because these waves are not created by the movement of charges. Rather these gravitational waves are disturbances formed in the geometry of spacetime which propagates at the speed of light.

I will consider you going through my previous post for understanding the complete picture of the gravitational waves the link of which is mentioned in this post itself!

Great article @crazy-facts, it was very interesting to read of how this fascinating instrument works, and also how it uses 2 sites to cross reference the data and eliminate all local distubances, and only record the real gravitational waves.

And thank you for mentioning Stockholm, that's where I live and I see the City Hall most days, where the Nobel Prize is delivered, I have only been able to see the ceremony on TV so far, but it's truly magnificent.
