Ultimate Guide To The Universe For Any Age : Volume-1

in #steemstem6 years ago (edited)

Hi to all the beautiful ladies and gentleman of this amazing community #Steemit!

Dear Steemians,

Wholehearted greetings to all of you! Hope you all are doing awesome in your life. In today's publication, we will discuss a part of the "Ultimate Guide To The Universe For Any Age". There will be a series of posts coming up on this topic with the prime focus to provide quality rich content and to not to make this publication lengthy. Space science is a huge area of science to which it will be an injustice to explain it in one single publication.

Therefore, in today's series, we will be going to study in complete details of how our solar system came into existence and also the various miscellaneous information about our solar system. I will try my best to make this publication an interesting one.

So, Image No-2 above shows our solar system and you can imagine how small is our planet Earth where we live in comparison to the size of the solar system. The solar system is huge and beautiful and it will be very interesting for you to know how this was created and why they are in this sequence only that sun is in the middle and the rest of the planets are little and far away from each other rotating the sun. There are asteroids and meteorites also present. So how all these were created? Why there are no changes? Why these are in this sequence only and not in another sequence? It is really going to be very interesting in discussing the theories behind it.

So first let me tell you the basics where our solar system exists because it is very important for the conceptual clarity before we jump into the deep details of the universe.

Earth is a planet of our solar system like have shown in the Image No-2 above and is a very small part of the solar system. The solar system is a small part of our Milkyway galaxy. Now again Milkyway galaxy is not a very big galaxy as compared to the other galaxies. Nearer to Milkyway galaxy there is one more galaxy named Andromeda galaxy existing and is much bigger than Milkyway galaxy.

Now see in our solar system one big star is there to which we call it as the sun which you all must be knowing. This star is not very unique because there are lots of such kind of stars in the universe same of which are also bigger than our sun and also some are smaller than our sun. So basically, the sun is an ordinary kind of star and from this, we can realize how small we really are.

Now, coming back to the topic. We all live on Earth which comes under our solar system and our solar system is a very small part in our Milkyway galaxy. There could be the existence of some other solar systems as well in our Milkyway galaxy for which research are still going on.

Now, Milkyway Galaxy is a part of a local group and there are lots of other galaxies also existing aside of our Milkyway galaxy and all these galaxies together make a cluster in which an uncountable number of stars, various planets, and other terrestrial bodies exists to which we can't even imagine. Again lots of clusters together form a supercluster and except supercluster, there are no bigger bodies exists in our known universe.

Recently a team of Indian scientists discovered the biggest of all the supercluster in the existence to which they have named it as Saraswati supercluster. Now, there must be question popping up in your mind that does our Milkyway galaxy lies under the Saraswati supercluster? The answer to this question is No! Our Milkyway galaxy comes under a different supercluster which is known as Laniakea supercluster. So this all was the basic conceptual ideas I tried to cover in this publication to which I tried my best to discuss simply so that we can understand it nicely before digging dip further.

Now let's try to understand how the solar systems were created. The known entire universe in which all the various superclusters, galaxies, solar systems, planets, etc; when they all came into existence? Well, there are lots of theories for answering this question. But the most accepted one is the Big Bang theory in which it explains that around 14 billion years ago our universe came into existence with a singularity and with time slowly our universe started expanding.

So taking this theory as a reference let’s move further to our discussion. Now the solar system that we see today was very different 4.6 billion years ago. The coordinates in which at present our solar system is located, there was a big nebula existing. Now, what is a nebula? Image No- 7, shows an example of a nebula. So basically, the nebula is a huge cloud comprising of cosmic dust and various gases.

So earlier in place of our solar system, there was a big nebula existing which slowly with time eventually started rotating and in the center of the nebula, the light gases helium and hydrogen gathered which gave birth to our very own sun and the denser gases came out a bit of the center of the nebula and created the other bodies, for example, Neptune, Uranus, and other gas planets and lately the small planets such as Mars, Earth, Mercury and Venus also came into existence.

The entire explanation and discussion that I made here about our solar system are based on a theory which is called as Nebular Hypothesis that came into existence around the 17th century. This is just a theory and various other theories are existing as well to which I will try to cover later in my upcoming publications otherwise this publication will become very lengthy.
