I know discussing about alcohol intake to you could sound boring to you because you have certainly heard about it a lot. Alcohol taken moderately has been found to have many good effects on the body. It can reduce blood pressure it helps to clear fat from the arteries and reduces the blood's tendency to clot. Moderate alcohol consumption reduces turbulent blood flow in the arteries which causes blood to clot and form plague.

For basically the reason that moderate alcohol intake reduces a type of stroke called ischemic stroke which occurs when a vessel bringing blood to the brain gets clogged. Alcohol helps the blood to go to the brain and therefore it reduces stroke.

Though another type of stroke known as hemorrhagic stroke gets worsened by alcohol intake. In hemorrhagic stroke, blood seeps out of the brain blood vessels due to rupture. But because hemorrhagic stroke has been prevalent , there is still a net advantage.

Therefore, moderate alcohol intake should be encouraged with people suffering from basically cardiovascular diseases. All these and so much more are advantages of moderate alcohol intake. A new important advantaged could be discovered soon as a new research suggests that moderate intake of alcohol helps reduces the risk of having cancer.

In the new study published by "PLOS medicine" on June 19, 2018 people who had fewer than seven(7) drinks a week had the lowest risk of cancer and death compared with those who had seven(7) or more drinks a week and with each additional drink a week, the risk of cancer and death from any cause increased. This study however did not prove the cause and effect but only found a relationship between alcohol, cancer and death.

The effects and cause of the study is still not yet understood, some faults may arise with the hypothesis as the research was only conducted on elderly individuals and not on the young. Also, another problem is that the lifestyle of the individuals were not totally accounted for.

The above may bring limitations but nevertheless there is hope in research in cancer.
