4-Rock of the day HEY!!!!

So today I am posting a picture of a rock under an electron microscope. Honestly sometimes I have no clue what type of rock a certain rock is but when you put it under a microscope it is way easier to figure it out. Here is a picture of just plain quartz which has a birefringence of 1st to 2nd order which you can see with the brighter colors. I will be posting more rocks in the future under microscopes so stay tuned!
