RE: Steemvoter Guild: "Nominate-a-Friend" for the Guild Vote (Tuesday June 13)

in #steemvoter8 years ago

Cut-off time: We will choose the highest value comment nomination within 48 hours of this post becoming active.

Is this really the best way to make the decision about who wins? Its not the first time I see users joining chat whining about other nominations getting voted on with voting trails thus making it unfair for certain nominations, and in this case even using randowhale (i.e paying for upvotes to win steemvoter of the day)

I've been refraining voting on these in the past since I find it to give an unfair advantage to whoever has more friends or bigger wallets get the steemvoter vote. Thoughts?

Hey @acidyo, we will be writing about it on Saturday on our "Week in review post". You are welcome to give suggestions on the post after you have read our thoughts on the matter.

yep! I agree you,

This issue was, however, discussed already by @deepapoudel. They told that they are looking for ways to help improve the service for the good, but it's still the same. Also, she said that there should be judges from within. And, I do support her opinion to some extend but yeah that will change the whole scenario.

Hi, we tried having an internal team to judge but then we were criticised that it wasn't decentralised.

You're right, it's fair. What should I do, my friend? @acidyo

any thing that can detect bot votes ?

My point was for comments that lead to steemvoter winners, there needs to be a better way to decide which nominations ought to win.

I agree. What would be the solution?

To choose winners differently than by posting rewards is my guess.

If we go by number of votes then it will be possible to sybil attack the comment with lots of little accounts. Some people hold thousands of those.

or Steem Voter choose a random winner?

Random winner would take away from the community aspect of everyone networking and canvassing for votes and would reduce overall engagement.
