As regard your question, i might not really be able to give a satisfactory answer but one thing I know for sure is that, the negative feedback loop comes into play in such situations.
Just the way humans body detect that there low sugar level and as such release the glucagon hormone which activate the release and breakdown of glucose from glycogen. There is always a compensatory mechanism to balance deficits
You might be right. These processes have genetic controls and scientists are already investigating the possibilities. Aside from the fact that stomata aperture is dynamic, the number also exhibit a similar trend in relation to ambient carbon dioxide concentration. Thanks for your constructive feedback.
