Keys to Attaining Life Success (I)

Dear Steemians, it’s midweek here and I’ll be sharing with you today some of my sincere reflections about life.

They’re honest opinions of mine, those I have come to understand over the years. Please, come along.

Let me start by saying that I amazingly got the big break of my life as a result of the bond I forged with the Editor of The Cable at the 2017 International Center For Journalists (ICFJ) Journalism Training for Nigerian Climate Writers.

It was after this encounter that I was able to seamlessly publish a news report titled "Catholic bishop to youth: Your certificate not enough to earn you a living" on The Cable.

Sometimes later, I met another friend, @daniel who introduced me to writing on Steemit and making friends here.

I must confess that I have seen and heard countless of people and friends securing their current jobs through invaluable posts shared here on Steemit; suffice it to say this is what I have experienced too.

I am therefore morally obliged to contribute back to the system that has made me by writing on some of my reflections about life that might be of help.

Networking is Essential

Firstly, I have come to realize that you can never grow beyond your network.

It is therefore important that you are willing to network while expanding your network and keeping them intact.

Your network is your currency. You never can tell, what you are earnestly looking for might be in the hands of the person sitting right next to you

Conferences, Workshops, Trainings among others are the unrestricted platforms where you can get access to diverse kinds of people beaming with immense potentials. Seize the opportunity to network.

Don’t Underestimate

Never underestimate anybody because everybody's life path remains a mystery.

There are countless stories of people whom "humanly thinking" you would have thought might never succeed – who later rose from grass to grace.

That person you've underrated might be a catalyst for your success.

Life is indeed a mystery and nobody knows what tomorrow holds. Tomorrow remains a mystery.

Be Humble

Pride is toxic and has all time been tested to be a catalyst for the downfall and destruction of a man.

Being arrogant and placing yourself above others could be devastating. Humility will surely get you ahead in life.

It is imperative to imbibe humility in all things you do.

Run from Pessimists

Avoid surrounding yourself with toxic and pessimistic people, they could intoxicate your dreams through the negative energy they are emitting.

Negative people will always remind you of million ways why your goals or dreams are unrealistic.

Rather, surround yourself with positive and optimistic people. You are the average of the kind of people you associate with.

You are bound to be making decisions and taking actions based on their negative perspectives – consciously or unconsciously. And this could be a catastrophe to your hitherto belief system.

Limiting your contact with negative people will surely enhance a quality life, bring you joy and happiness.

Be conscious of the caliber of people you associate with.

Follow Your Dream

Dream high, aim high, and keep the dream alive by working legitimately towards attaining your goals.

Many would say your dream is unachievable – even they would say your dream looks stupid.

At this juncture, rather than dumping your ideas and dreams into the trash can, turn the naysayers' discouragements into motivation in achieving your goals and dreams.

Some people tried to discourage me while starting Globe Opportunities platform.
I refused to let the dream perish.

I didn't listen to them, I forged ahead and implemented my dream of adding value and sharing opportunities with fellow youths across the world via my platform (Globe Opportunities) - But today, they are singing a different song.

Understand that Learning is a continuum

Everyday presents an opportunity to learn and know new things. It is pertinent to continue learning and upgrading one's skills.

You are outdated and far behind immediately you stopped learning and acquiring new skills.

The new skills acquired are leverages to keep up with our changing world.

Leverage on Your Challenges

See your challenge as a springboard that strengthens and prepares you for the bigger tasks ahead.

Often times, we see our challenges as obstacles but the earlier we see it from the dimension of strength the better it is for us.

Amidst your challenges, you will be propelled to be resilient in the face of your adversity and work twice hard as others in the quest to overcome your challenges.

Overcoming your defying challenges bequeaths to you courage and problem solving skills.

When overseeing a bigger and challenging task in the future, you would be in a better position to stay calm, manage and swiftly attend to the rising problems and challenges which might accompany any position you found yourself.

With high probability, you can be assured of success.

Strive to Add value to the world

Have meaningful impacts in the lives of the people through your skills and talents.

And this can be done by giving back to your environment perhaps through volunteering, teaching, solving problems, advocacy and enlightenment among others.

The key emphasis is putting smile on the faces of those around you while also engraving your name in their heart.

Fortunately, nature has a way of rewarding your efforts. What would you be remembered for?

Get up and Work

Be willing to leave your comfort zones and explore new things NOW! Do what you love ( legitimate).

You would regret the things you haven't done than the ones you have done.

You like singing, start singing now! You like traveling and going on adventure, start going now!

While leaving your comfort zone and exploring new things, you are bound to discover new things and even rediscover yourself.

You needed to hug that special someone, hug that special someone now!

Whatever you want to do, DO IT NOW! Tomorrow might be late.

Life deteriorates with age/time. You are never in charge of your life. Life on earth is ephemeral.

God Factor

And above all, The GOD factor. This is supposed to come first, I deliberately put this here because He is the creator and the foundation. Put God first in all your endeavors.

Pray fervently and know God. Obey Him, love Him and serve Him wholeheartedly.

With God all things are possible but, this is not to abandon your part of putting in HARDWORK.

Preparation (work + prayer) meets opportunities and opportunity meets preparation (work+ prayer).
