IMPORTANCE OF A PROPHET

STEEM has its reward and it is only those believe and invest in it that would get its reward. I am sure that most steemians believe in it that is why we are into it. The preaching of crypto currency has gained a lot of ground today in our generation and this is because of the prophets of crypto currency. Whenever we get the words of a prophet, the first thing to do is to believe the prophecy. Some may wonder if it is true or not But in real sense whether we believe it or not, most times those prophecies come to pass.
Prophecies are about the future. The Bible also recognize a prophet 2Chronicles20 :20, Amos3:7.
The first mention of a prophet is in Genesis 20:7 where God called Abraham a prophet. Genesis20:1-18 records the encounter of Abraham with Abimelech, king of Gera. Abraham had lied to Abimelech that Sarah his wife was his sister for fear of his life.
Fear is a spirit and a tormenting and deceitful spirit. One of the first rule of life is the rule of self preservation. No wonder then that Job2:4 says, "--Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life". Even in lying to Abimelech Abraham was not arrogant in deceit. This is a contrast to what we observe in some inexperienced modern day prophets. Take time to read Genesis chapter 20, even as we draw the following lessons from the encounter of Abraham with Abimelech;

I) True prophets of God are humble, but in themselves, they are not infallible, but they serve an infallible God, who at times allows His servants to stumble to teach them that in spite the anointing on them, they are not God and that without Him they can do nothing ( John15:5).

II) In spite of their weaknesses and failures, God still demands respect for His prophets. Psalm105:15 says, "--Touch not my anointed, and do my prophet no harm".

III) God holds His prophets in high "esteem" . In spite of Abraham's failure, God still required that only Abraham's prayer will end the judgement of barrenness in Abimelech's household ( Genesis20:17-18).
Always accord true prophets of God the respect due to them for the Bible says that if you receive a prophet in the name of a prophet you receive a prophet's reward (Mtt.10:41).
