#Steroids use in bodybuilding , good or bad?? Did steroids use cause the death of rich piana and dallas mccarver??

in #steroids7 years ago (edited)

hello steemers,

A few days back, a horrific news emanated in front of the world about the death of two well known figures RICH PIANA and DALLAS MCCARVER.  It was a very sad news for the bodybuilders and for everyone of course.  Dallas died at the age of 26 and Rich at 46. And researches shows Dallas died after allegedly choking on his dinner and Rich collapsed at his home and rushed to hospital but didn't survive his medical emergency. Now  news which is spreading is that both are died because of steroid abuse. But i think, still there is no report which shows this. Dear friends i am not saying or even trying to confute this news. But many critiques are emphasizing  some inappropriate articles or comments like, "shame on bodybuilding" or "anyone can get gigantic muscles so easily with drug abuse" or  "steroids use kills" blah blah......

And because of such irrelevant hearsay, i thought to discuss some facts and myths about steroids use in bodybuilding based upon my research, study and personal experience.

I am compelled to write this because everyone is being lied to about steroids. I  know the truth and i want everyone to know and understand the facts. But i am not going to advise anyone to use them,  i am just sharing the truth.

I will tell you what can be beneficial and what can cause harm.  but before starting lets discuss about some myths that have been promulgated by some inexperienced people.

MYTH ;  Steroid use will kill you

OK, Maybe,, prescription drugs go, steroids are amazingly safe. Even Aspirin can kill you if you are going to swallow a full pack without any prescription. Steroids are prescription drugs. They have some dangerous side effects. These side effects are not unknown. Not all steroids have the sarne side effects, and of course, some people may be more sensitive than others. But death? That risk has been virtually non-existent in healthy athletes.

MYTH; By working harder and working longer you can achieve the same results as you are going to get faster with steroids.

All athletes who are training so well encounter the catabolic effect caused by the cortical steroids secreted by our body in response to high level of training. so Anabolic steroids can only overcome such catabolic effect and break this performance wall and give strength to body and increases muscle mass, which is not possible naturally as natural secretion is limited.

MYTH; Anablic steroids do not enhance any athletic performance.

Well, if they didn't work, why do we have to test for them in competitions? Because there are hundreds of competitors why would we have to test each competitor as it costs much.

MYTH;  Bodybuilders who pass the drug tests at contests are 'natural'.

Well thats not true, they stop taking any drug 10-20 days before the competition and thus pass the test. But there is nothing called a natural bodybuilding. But again am not advising anyone to take drugs, a great physique can be achieve without any drug abuse,,  here i am discussing only about competitors  as there is a far difference between a competitors physique and a normal good physique. Now you can come across some ad pictures showing photos of some popular bodybuilders or powerlifters saying ;"i did this all with food supplements and you can too" but that is just business. Remember: steroids are drugs; supplements are food. Food doesn't act like drugs. Drugs act like drugs.

And now before going any further, i am going to state my position on a few things, i use steroids to improve my performance, my appearance and also my health. Yes, steroids can improve health if they are used in a therapeutic manner.

If used correctly (but most athletes still don't use them correctly, doctor supervision or not) anabolic/androgenic steroids can give you permanent weight gains and significant increases in athletic performance even after stopping the steroid therapy.

Shall we discuss danger?

The potential for danger is always there. Steroids require more smarts to realize what the dangers are because they are not immediately self-evident. Generally women and children have more trouble with the drugs than full grown men do. I don't think children (teenagers included) should take steroids because all but one or two of the drugs can stop bone growth prematurely. Short people are usually unhappy about their stature, and who wants a world with even more unhappy people? Frail, sickly, and skinny (and there's a world of difference between 'skinny' and 'lean') individuals usually will not have a tolerance for even small dosages of any steroid which is only moderately toxic. Usually if you are considered an athletic person, your blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol are 'normal', and you don't have a family history of heart disease, there is a good chance that you will not have any significant adverse side effects while using steroids in a therapeutic manner. But before you commit yourself to steroid use you should be aware of the new legal ramifications of steroid use.

The average athlete has no idea how, in the biochemical sense, steroids work. He just knows that they do indeed get the job done, and the more seasoned steroid user has a short list of rough and tumble real world steroid use 'rules'. And these rules generally work out to be true.

RULE 1: The more steroids that you take, the more you will grow (sidebar: if you eat enough and train regularly).

RULE 2: Some steroids work a lot better than others.

RULE 3: Oral steroids do more damage to your liver than injectables do.

RULE 4: The less toxic an oral steroid is to your liver, the less effective it is for growth.

RULE 5: There is no such thing as taking too much steroid; it varies from person to person. ‘Too much' for one may not be enough for another.

RULE 6: ‘Too much' is only related to your health. No doctor, no researcher, nobody has determined the optimal dosage for athletic performance.

Yes, I agree that many steroid users seem irresponsible towards their health. I guess I would put them in the same class as free form rock climbers, who don't use safety ropes, or those idiots who like to parachute off bridges and buildings. They are not like race car drivers, who at least take every safety advantage they can. So are we talking about athletes here, or daredevils?

And at last i would like to say that I am not a Doctor and i am not writing any kind of prescription for anyone. Its just information that i thought to share with you guys.

And again i am not advising anyone to take any kinds of drugs or steroids but if you are going to compete and you need to use such kind of stuff just follow the prescriptions provided by your doctor.

This was just a general information and in future i will share a post about different kinds of supplements and steroids , their science, their use , side-effects and how to use them. but for that post i will be needing your aspects. Please let me know in the comment section  if anyone is interested for a post like that.

and dear steemers if you like this post , upvote it and share it as it will motivate me to share every bit of my knowledge and experience with you. And as i always say, i love to train and motivate people. and if anyone has any doubts regarding fitness training or bodybuilding (either its about diet, supplements or training schedules), you can ask me at [email protected]

Thanks a lot, stay safe, work hard,  take care , love you all.
