Desert Rose
obesum is a species of shrub belonging to the Apocynaceae family. It is also known as sabi star, kudu, winter rose or desert rose. It is native to the tropical and subtropical east and south of Africa and Arabia.
It is a succulent evergreen shrub that reaches 1-3 m in height. The leaves are spirally arranged, simple and whole, with a leathery texture, 5-15 cm long and 1-8 cm wide. The flowers are tubular 2-5 cm long with five petals 4-6 cm in diameter, similar to the genera Plumeria and Nerium. The flowers are red or pink often with white bursts. It is often used as a bonsai.
