Palestinian Man Donates Hefty Sum To Israeli Hospital That Saved His Life

(True Activist) Tensions may persist in the Middle East, but at least one individual who is directly affected by the Palestine-Israeli conflict is ready to heal the divide. After being checked into the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa for a cancerous tumor earlier this year, a man who goes by the name M and is in his 40’s witnessed something incredible. Reportedly, the staff of the hospital treats everyone the same — regardless of their religious beliefs or background.

Several months after M was released, he decided to make a hefty donation of tens of thousands of shekels to the Israeli hospital. GoodNewsNetwork reports that an additional effect of the compassionate treatment was moving a number of children who were residents of Gaza and the West Bank to the hospital, where they will receive chemotherapy.

M explained in a statement: “When I arrived at Rambam, I saw a medical team that treats its patients with dedication, but I also saw the suffering of sick children. Palestinian children, Israelis, Syrians, and children from other countries who are being treated at Rambam for serious illnesses and are in need of all the help they can get.

“I decided to make a donation to help save human lives apart from any political considerations,” he added.

Commenting on the persisting divide which has resulted in some more suffering, M continued:

“Both Israeli and Palestinian societies suffer from violence and I am striving for a situation where we all can contribute to peace and health: to treat children, save lives, share knowledge, and train Palestinian doctors at Rambam, in order to improve the state of the health systems and the capacity to treat people in the PA areas, and to encourage others to donate and contribute to the betterment of health within our two nations.”

“Medicine is a bridge between peoples and my hope is that with the help of this small contribution and others like it in the future, we will all see a better tomorrow,” M finished.

Reportedly, the generous Palestinian man’s donation will be used to construct a new recovery room for children undergoing chemotherapy in the facility.
