It was Catherine's final exams in primary school, as she stood at the headmistress office waiting for her to finish her discussion with one of her teachers, she wasn't nervous to be here… She was used to be summoned here, as young as she was, she knew she was intelligent, and she was the darling to all teachers, but as she waited silently, she wondered why this particular summons, because it was nearly the close of school day... But she waited silently...

Catherine ran all the way home as fast as her tiny legs could carry her, she was so excited, she ran, careful so the envelope won't fall off her hands, with the news her headmistress gave her, Catherine couldn't wait for her dad to get back from work.. She got home earlier than usual, ran to where her dad pays for her lunch every day, she took her lunch, and eagerly waited for her father to get back home

Chinedu watched as his daughter slept, he was so proud of her, looking at her recount the day's events as soon as she saw him back from work, was so breathtaking for him, he couldn't believe he single handedly brought up this little genius, he thought again on what she told him and smiled, looking at the envelope, some money... She had been selected to represent her school for a scholarship, by the governor of the state, within was a contribution of half payment of her procurement of the form, needed to be amongst the chosen...

Chinedu was happy for the support the school gave, looking at the money, he those of another plan for it... After all it was a week away yet… He smiled, took the money off the envelope, placed it in his wallet and, walked out of his house... Making sure to lock the doors after him...
