Come Together

To all of those that call yourselves Americans as I proudly do. The election is over. If you are on the right extend that olive branch to those that opposed you. Let them know it will be ok. Be there for them. Give them time. If you were on the left. Breath. What just happened to you happened to the right 4 years ago. It happens. Win some lose some. For gods sake stop crying and buck up. This time, right now, in our lives can be one of two things. Either we stay divided and we continue to slide into a third world country or we come together as Americans and once again become the beacon of light we were meant to be. Both options are up to us and us alone. We need everyone's talents and everyone's voice.

No one wants to take away your liberties or your life. I think this election cycle has played with the minds of people on both sides and we need to remember who we are. We need to remember that our ancestors gave everything they had to the formation of this country. It doesn't matter if they came over on the mayflower or took their oath yesterday. If they were brought here by force or where here already. Every one of them put something into this soil. The soil of our land is filled with our blood, sweat, and tears. We are the same.
No matter what people tell you and how they try to divide us with labels we are only fit for one label, Americans. When we die and are put into the soil with our ancestors and our flesh rots away there will be no way to tell who was what other then that we are buried here in America.

There is no reason other then your self imposed limitations on why we can not usher in a golden age. One to be talked about thousands of years from now. In America we can excel at all things if we stand united. We are at a crossroads. We can fix our broken education system and push science and engineering. We can promote prose and art. We can reach for the stars and sing, write, sculpt, and paint it. We can once again be the great inventors of the world. We can then make those new products here. We can return power were it is supposed to be, to us. We can shrink the federal government and return power to the states. Let's face it, local governments are more responsive.
We can return common sense to the minds of our citizens. We can change the way we treat each other. We can recognize we are all created equal. We can stop being threatened by ideas that are different then ours and open our minds. We can leave this country freer and better for our children and grandchildren.

But first we have to realize that we are broken and come together to repair this nation and ourselves. We have to do it honestly and openly. I welcome the naysayers as long as they too have a plan and are open to compromise.

Now, let's shut up, quit tearing each other down and being irrational. Quit being poor sports and work together to bring us back to greatness for ALL Americans.
