Age: 16 years old
Occupation: Student Grade X
Resident: Peshawar
Died At: Army Public School, Peshawar
Injuries Sustained: Shot four times in the head, neck and chest
Died On: 16/12/14
Cause of Death:
Mubeen was the only son of Mrs & Dr Farooq Shah and brother of two sisters; one older, Maleeha and the younger sister Areeba. A top-notch student, he was preparing to ace his class X exams, repeating his performance of Class IX where he had secured 93% marks. A topper of Grade IX, Mubeen was unsure whether to be an engineer or a doctor, leaning more towards engineering. An avid and medal winning football player, he dreamt of pursuing his passion abroad. He had memorised 18 Siparahs (Chapters) of the Holy Qur'aan and his father recalls Mubeen accompanying him to the mosque regularly.
A brilliant student, Mubeen was one of the assigned class monitors managing students in the Auditorium on 16/12/14 when six terrorists stormed into the hall. Mubeen was shot in the back, side of the head and the chest sustaining four bullets.
As a hobby, Mubeen also kept parrots at home. After her son's passing, Mubeen's mother released the parrots but the birds stayed back and still remain at his house. His mother remembers his last few moments with her when he uncharacteristically turned around, waved at her for one last time and was gone.
