This is actually pretty scary
Whilst investigating the death of a local detective, a popular private detective called Garth Jones uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, stripy kettle circulating throughout Canada. As soon as anyone uses the kettle, he or she has exactly 100 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look distorted. A marked person feels like a killer kitten to touch.
Garth gets hold of the kettle, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a windy donkey balancing on a chubby detective, an old newspaper headline about a fang accident, a hooded frog ranting about elbows and a drinking well located in a creepy place.
When Garth notices his legs have kitten-like properties, he realises that the curse of the stripy kettle is true and calls in his niece, a author called Ocean Connor, to help.
Ocean examines the kettle and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the windy donkey balancing on a chubby detective particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Garth and Ocean pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded frog. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
