Mystery of the Ancient Bridge of Adam Bridge
The image of the Rama Bridge itself is very easily visible from above sea level because of its location that is not too deep, that is only flooded as deep as approximately 1.2 meters (if the sea water is receding).
The status of the bridge is still a mystery to date. According to the interpretation of experts, it is estimated that Rama Bridge is closely related to the famous Indian Epic, Ramayana.
Sri Lanka Archeology Department has issued a statement stating the age of Rama Bridge may range between 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 years. However, whether this bridge really formed naturally or is a masterpiece of humans they can not explain yet.
S.Ueraniyagala, Director General of Archeology of Sri Lanka who is also the author of the book "The Early Man and the Rise of Civilization in Sri Lanka: The Archaeological Evidence" says that human civilization has emerged at the foot of Himalaya Mountain about 2,000,000 years ago. Although according to historians of the earliest civilizations on the Indian mainland were the civilizations of the Ca, it was not a guarantee that there was an older civilization of them before.
Scholars estimate that perhaps this ancient bridge was built after the mainland of Sri Lanka separated by India millions of years ago.
Inside the Ramayana Epic, the bridge was built by ape army troops under Rama's supervision. The purpose of the construction itself is as a ferry to Alengka State in a mission to save Dewi Shinta where at that time Dewi Sinta was in the period of abduction by King of Alengka Kingdom, namely Rahwana.
The Epic of Ramayana according to the Hindu Calendar should be at the time of Tredha Yuga (according to Hinduism Hindu's evolution discs of the Epic are divided into the Sathya period (1.728.000 years), Tredha (1,296,000 years), Dwapara (8.64,000 years) and Kali (4.32.000 years old) The current stage according to their calendar is Kali, which means that the age of Rama Bridge is about 1,700,000 years.
