RE: The Graduation Day Speech - An Original Short Story
Hmmm, the power of the first person POV written with the pain of those days, then you lump the trials of graduation where everyone is convinced you're going to Fail. If that isn't the makings of a 80s movie.....While reading this piece, it's fairly obvious this story has deep ties in your soul and I'm convinced, you shouldn't let this piece sit still. Remember, a movie is a SHORT STORY, not a NOVEL...and this short piece is RIPE for a Coming-Of-Age Indie and Awkward Romantic Comedy....The key here is that even though the piece is structured correctly, it is the soothing voice of the Narrator that leads the reader to embrace what's happening. I tend to think of pieces in this vein as "MOOD AND MOMENT WRITING" and judging from the comments, others agree as well..Thanks for sharing and PLEASE - turn this into an indie rom-com so we can hear this powerful voice take hold of us on the screen and entertain us as we go back to the most formative years of our lives....
And I just saw this! Wow. I am super excited that you took time to read and then gave a very detailed thought on my piece. About the proposition, you seriously got me thinking. Hey! If I decide to follow through this with any further literary decision, I will surely appreciate your mentioning this. Thank you once again. I follow you ;-)
No worries, just let me know, I can do a quick overview of the easiest way to plot out the story, I can even work out the primary components (title, tagline, storyline, synopsis, hashtags) and we can work on the one sheet as well. Don't play around, get this story out there on Netflix!!!!
