The Heroic Story of Dietz von Schaumburg Who Runs Without Head To Free His Soldiers.

in #story7 years ago

In 1636 Dietz von Schaumburg and four mercenaries were arrested and ready to be executed for rebelling against King Ludwig of Bavaria. According to tradition, the king will grant all the last requests of the criminals to be executed. However, Dietz von Schaumburg's request is very unusual. Because Dietz von Schaumburg requested that the four mercenaries march eight feet apart from each other. Then Dietz von Schaumburg requested to be decapitated first and if he could run past all four of his mercenaries. He asked the king to forgive them and set him free, and King Ludwig agreed. Then came the first time Dietz von Schaumburg was to be beheaded. But either a miracle or a miracle. After Dietz von Schaumburg loses his head from being decapitated, he gets past the last person standing in line and then dead. And finally the king had no choice but to keep his promise to forgive them for his release.
